I just ordered a Galaxy Light online. Have it saturday. Last year I bought my first tablet and to get Flash Player found on many websites to work I had to do this work around were it lets you get flash player to work with firefox browser and last version supported by adobe for flash player and android.

My current phone is an older galaxy Exhibit 4G with android 2.3.6 and flash player works on that phone. So will flash player websites run on the Galaxy Light or do I have to do some kind of work around like I did on my tablet.
If I remember correctly flash worked up until android version 2.3 or something like that so is that why it works on my current phone or do all phones work with flash player now?

Hello and welcome to the forums. Flash players was not needed for the kitkat . So if you have kitkat you should be good. Now most phones come with them and just need to update .

No its Jelly bean, I hear that there will be and update to kitkat but not yet. Saw that here When will my device receive the latest KitKat 4.4 software update? : Cell Phones | Samsung

nothing under the galaxy light though.

So with JellyBean will flash work? You mention an update, did you mean the OS update to KitKat?

I get the phone according to usps tracking Saturday, I will find out then but if there is a work around needed I would like to know how to do it now.

Which carrier? The metro pcs variation has 4.4.2 i believe. My tablet has 4.4.2 also and just needed an update to flash player from the play store

Its t-mobile and the android version is 4.2.2
I hope its just some sort of update as that would make it easy.

From my tablet experience I thought android didn't support flash anymore. Well at least for tablets, no idea if phones are some how different? I have flash working on my tablet with firefox browser.

Iam rather new to this as I just got my first smart phone last month but decided to get the Galaxy light for the 4G LTE capability. It seemed to be what I was looking for. I considered the S3 but thought I didnt want that big of a phone.

I tried dolphin on my tablet just now. its got android 4.2.1 At first I liked it but if I go to yahoo.com or cnet.com it doesnt load any of the pictures on those web pages. There are just blank spots were the pictures should be. If there is an flash animation it says click to enable flash then that works BUT still none of the regular jpg type pictures display. I have Firefox on tablet too and all pictures show. BUT as far as I know firefox doesnt nativly support flash but I did the work around so flash works on it.

So it doesn't appear Dolphin works very well at least not for yahoo or cnet.
Well I will see if I can figure something out when I get the phone Saturday.

Well I downloaded the latest version from Google Play so I would think thats the best version? Maybe it would work better on the phone. I will find out. I liked the way the browser worked but when it failed to load any images on yahoo and Cnet and were firefox loaded everything no problem. Yes I saw there were a bunch of ad ons maybe I needed some of those to get images to load BUT that shouldn't be the case.

Well since according to USPS tracking I should have the phone tomorrow I will see what I need to do. hoping flash just runs like it does on my current phone.

Got the phone it has a blocked IMEI number so I guess it will be a while before I get a working phone. Just a warning about buying phone off ebay. It was supposed to be a factory refurbished. Kinda doubt it since its a blocked phone. Funny thing I even called this seller and asked about this very problem, i was assured it wouldn't be blocked as they check it themselves, yea right.

Concerning flash, you need a cracked version and dolphin browser to see all your favorite sites. Just google flash and kitkat and you find it.

Just remember, flash hasn't been supported for sometime on Android, so you might have some force closes, and freezes occasionally.

Ok so it sounds like I have to do what I did with my tablet when I got one last year for the first time. I downloaded firefox then I got the last supported version of adobe flash for android and I cant remember what I did after that. But I have flash working fully in Firefox browser on Android 4.2.1 tablet.

Not sure why I should google Kitkat and flash as the phone has Jellybean, I heard theirs supposed to be an upgrade to kitKat but none so far. Maybe google Jellybean and flash?

Dolphin does appear to run flash I just have to hit run flash when theres flash content on a web page BUT dolphin failed to show just regular jpg pictures on both cnet and yahoo. I have failed to find any options menu on Dolphin to enable anything. This is on my tablet as I haven't yet got the new phone. I have a brand new phone coming this Thursday. This one should NOT be a blacklisted phone, lol.

Ok so I got a working phone. Flash did not work with the installed browsers. I downloaded Dolphin, I went to a website with flash, speakeasy bandwidth page. It said click to run flash, I did and it asked me to download flash player which I did but it did NOT auto install it. I clicked on downloads in the dolphin browser and then saw the download and ran the apk flash file I downloaded. I went back to speakeasy page and it then ran the flash fine. I also went to both yahoo and cnet to see if it would load the regular jpg pictures which it did. Still cant figure out why it doesn't on my tablet PLUS my tablet never asked me to download any flash apk file. So I have flash working. I also downloaded Google Now, playing around with that. Works darn good. Its like that Iphone Seri.

Never download an app from a 3rd party website. Every website with flash has ads and pop ups telling you to update or install the latest flash player. It's spyware or malware, be careful. Unfortunately the flash player hasn't been supported for a while now on android, so you take your chances anyway with whatever flash player you download. But be careful.

May I ask, Kitkat or Jellybean?

Also, go to dolphin settings and enable jetpack if not already. Also under web settings or customized have flash setting always on and webpages won't ask you again to play flash.

I have Jellybean as this is a unlocked tmobile phone I got off ebay not metro PC, pretty sure you have to be on metro service in order to buy the phone direct from them. Iam on the Walmart/tmobile 30 a month plan. I wanted data more than phone service. I get 5 gigs at 4G LTE.

As far as downloading the flash player I think?? but not sure that the download was from dolphin browser itself as I went there with google chrome with phone and it didnt give me a a notification for flash player download. Oh it wasn't a link it was a message that popped up in its own box saying download flash player. I have seen what your talking about updating my flash player or what ever while using my PC which I never do. So I thought this was the browser itself telling me to do this. At least it appeared that way to me.

Also have you ever installed flash on your tablet? Like you just did on your phone? That might be why. The latest Adobe flash to support Android was version 11.1. something. Go to Adobe's website, look under archives for that version for your tablet.

Worth a try.

I have flash working on tablet with firefox browser. I downloaded last supported version of adobe flash player then did something with firefox to use it. I did this last year so dont remember exactly what I did. I got instructions off web a year ago.

But since i have flash working with dolphin on phone I wont bother with any other methods at this point.

If you downloaded flash on your tablet, dolphin should work. But if you like firefox,. Hey.

Many websites know your using a mobile, and create popups that make it look like it's your phone that is notifying you. You downloaded that flash off a popup.Your browser wouldn't tell you to download flash. It's the website. If it were me. I would unistall and download the flash player directly from the Adobe website. You should always be initiating a download directly instead of taking a popups suggestion. Check the version of adobe flash player. Should be 11.1.115.81.

Yepp thats the exact version of flash just checked, so it looks good plus I was at speakeasy bandwidth speed test. Very well known website. So I think I will just leave it.
