So, recently my Nexus 5bhas been having problems connecting to the charger, and a few months ago I installed the Android L dev preview. As it's doubtful that anything running the preview will receive an OTA, I'm going to have to flash it myself, which I don't have a problem with. The problem though, is that I'm afraid that if the USB becomes disconnected from the N5 (the port is VERY finnicky, one touch and it becomes disconnected) while it's flashing, the phone will brick and be useless. I bought my phone in January from my carrier, and I believe I have a one year warranty, but if I bring it in with L still installed, they'll allege that the software broke it. What should I do?

EDIT: Apps are dropping support for the build, so I have to upgrade.

Do you have a nandroid backup that you can restore?
If your nervous about the USB port/cable disconnecting while flashing the factory images, you could just flash a stock unmodified ROM to get you off the android L preview and back on 4.4.4. You'd still have a custom recovery and root, but you could unroot and then flash the stock recovery.
