Alright, after 2 weeks here's what I would like to talk about.

Is there a definitive timeline on the turbo getting L?

Can't stand no line break on keyboard, well at least at top level of keyboard. Could care less about emoji want to smash phone every time I need to use line break !!!!!!!

The no left homescreens drives me crazy.

Battery is one day for heavy use ( 30 emails, 150 texts, 5 hours screen time )

What do you have disabled, do you use the moto features? What else is shut off?

I like the ballistic nylon, but wish it had some sort of coating, preferably rubber, phone slides around on hard surfaces, and I've had a few white fibers pull out of nylon.

I know we had an update, any clue what it did?

I hate the FB app always running, I know that Google or Verizon saves contact photos.
Is there a way to install FB app, link contact photos to phone, then uninstall app and have photos stay?...anyone help with this would be much appreciated!!!

Complaints? Workarounds? Performance enhancers?

Regards

No, there is no timeline for android 5.0. We know that it's coming, but not when.

The homescreen issue is easily solved with a third party launcher like Nova. The keyboard issue - look at the Swiftkey keyboard. You can long press the "z" key for an underscore character and long press "g" for a dash/hyphen.

Maybe you can find a desktop app that syncs Google contacts with Facebook contacts? That will sync the Google contact photo down. Or you can go into the Facebook app and turn off all background updates and notifications.

I agree with doogald's comments regarding the keyboard and 5.0. I use Swiftkey also.

Here is what I have disabled: Amazon, Amazon app suite, Amazon Kindle, Amazon Music, Android Live Wallpapers, Amazon Appstore, Audible, Basic Daydreams, Black Hole, Bubbles, Call My Droid, Caller Name ID, Chrome, Cloud, Cloud Print, Command Center, Drive, Droid Zap, Face Unlock, Family Base Companion, Gmail (I use the standard email set for Gmail), Hindi Print, Korean keyboard, Pinyin input, Play Books and Games, Play Movies & TV, Play Newstand, Google Search, Google+, Hangouts, HP Print Plugin, IMDb, iWnn IME, IWnn Keyboard, Magic Smoke Wallpapers, Message+, Mobile Hotspot, Moto, Moto Actions, Moto Voice, Motorola Connect, Moto Flipcase, Moto Migrate, Music Vis Wallpapers, My InfoZone, NFL Mobile, Phase Beam, Photo Screensavers, Print Spooler, Slacker Radio, Softcard, TalkBack, VZW Location Agent, VZ Navigator, YouTube. (Whew!)

I know others use some of these services. I just like the notification on the screen. I don't talk to my phone and it was always lighting up when I would move at my desk at work.

I am getting slightly less battery than I did with my Maxx at work. My office has a metal roof and I'm surrounded by steel file cabinets. But at night when charging I will have 45 to 60% left and have screen times of 3.5 to 4.5 hours. So I can't complain.

I don't know what the update was either. I got it the night of the 30th when I got the phone.

I love the phone, but like any other there are a few quirky things.

BTW- I got the red metallic. I have the tight shell cover from Verizon on it with the nerdy holster. All my pockets are full and I don't use a screen protector. This works good for me.

^^After some time now, have you seen any real advantages? Better experience with resource management? Any apps above have your re-enabled? Just curious...
