Nexus 7 2013 5.0 Rollout

Oh and to the phones that bend. I subscribe to a YouTube channel where this guy does unboxing of devices. People complained that he is bias and will not test android, so guess what? He got a brand new Galaxy Note 3 and it bent too! He said many phones will bend given the right pressure. Even my droid Maxx seemed like it was bending a little when I tried. You can attack apple all you want but I've seen it with my own eyes that android phones are no better.

OK we don't need apple vs android battles. This is android forums, people will begin to devour you. And really when it come to apple vs google it really just comes down to preference. IOS is definitely full of bugs as well as android. We are all here because we love the open source nature of android. IOS is closed source, "walled garden". The bug in your moto is because of Motorola not google.
But anyways, great thinking on the clean flash. That really is the best way. Good luck with wugs , its a great tool. But remember many apps have not been updated to work on lollipop yet. I flashed factory image of 5.0 and I am encountering quite a few that don't work. But that's the fault of the app developers, NOT GOOGLE. So don't even start, lol. I may go back to KitKat for a while. The system runs great, but I need my Dish Anywhere app. Let's me watch anything on live TV or from my DVR from anywhere. Great on long drives.

I apologize for the iOS talk in the Android forums. I encounter this everywhere. Android only people bash iOS in iOS forums and iOS people bash android in android forums. I'm not bashing either. I like them both but I prefer my iPad even in the walled garden. But remember, android you still need to root to get out of its walled gardens too. Same with iOS, with jailbreaking. I won't do either on either OS. Rooting breaks down walls in android and jailbreaking breaks down the walls in iOS. That's all I hear in android forums. Root root root. So people must not be happy with Android as is. So the argument is moot for iOS. I guess I'll wait for lollipop until Google sorts it out.

And Starkraving, the websites said that the ota will take about several weeks to go to all devices. Not my words, the websites words. They all say the same things. And to the person that said I will get all the bugs with Apple. I have yet to encounter any on my iPad 3 with iOS 8.1 more than I can say for Kitkat. Ever hear of the "can't hang up when you have a busy signal when calling someone" bug? Still not fixed by Motorola, i.e. Google. That's just one bug out of many I've experienced with kitkat alone. Just because you hate apple doesn't make android much better. And to the other person, you don't have to listen to the U2 album if you don't want and you can hide it if you don't want to see something totally free from a group that is actually thinking about its fans rather than dollar signs. I can't believe you're complaining over getting something free from Apple and U2. That's like someone giving you free groceries and you complaining about it.
I can't eat the U2 album. Taylor Hawkins said it best when he said it sounds like a fart. A lot of people were unhappy with Apple because of the album being in their library, and not being able to get rid of it. At least you can throw out unwanted groceries.

I'm not trying to fuel the Apple vs Android fire, it's merely preference for us all. I am a previous iPhone owner and I give Apple credit where it is due, but there is no need to try and gain the upper hand in the tablet/smartphone market by handing out a free album. If U2 wanted the world to have there album for free, they would have made it a choice for all platforms, not just iTunes. It was clearly a marketing strategy to lure in more people to buy their hardware just because they give away a free album. And we all know how this country loves free stuff.

All software has numerous bugs, that's why there are ways to push updates on all platforms.

I'm sure of it were a rap album free or a free movie no one would complaining. But since it was a successful Irish band who cared enough to offer 500 million people their album for free (which you can hide quite easily) and still people complained. I'm certainly glad it wasn't a free cRap album. Or Latin. Or jazz. Or blues. Thankfully it was a free well known band who I actually like so I thank them for something free. But, had it been a cRap album, I would have easily hid it or called apple to totally remove it from my account. Simple. Easy. Effective. No hassle. They gave me two free credits for music videos and they are in my account and won't go away. Will I use them? No. I don't download music videos. I didn't want them. They are there to stay. I can care less. It's not hurting me. Just like U2 isn't hurting me.

Not only are they a well known band, U2 will go down in history as one of the top 20 bands of all time and top 10 most influential bands.

I can agree with your POV. It doesn't hurt anything to be there. u2 knew the album would never see any light if it were released normally. Perhaps giving the album away and announcing it at an Apple event was the only way anyone would even know they had a new album.

I can tolerate older U2, but I'm not impressed by their latest work.

They most likely will. just like a lot of classic artists, I can appreciate their earlier music, but the new stuff just isn't doing anything for them. I would have the same opinion if it were Metallica. As much as I love ajfa, their latest music is garbage.

No doubt that older U2 is much better than the new stuff. They lost me in the mid nineties.

Well, I thank you for recommending wugfresh but after reading the comments section on his page I think I'm more scared to even use his software than the Android sdk. Lots of people encountering issues and his response? "Use a different USB cord and USB slot." Really? Could it be that his stuff just doesn't work? People have done what he asked and still it's not working. I guess I'll just factory reset my device and install a clean lollipop whenever (if ever) it finally arrives to my tablet. Another thing I hate about android. IOS comes out, it's out for every device same day. Android OS comes out and websites say it may take several weeks to come to your device. I like android and will probably continue using android phones once my "Not So Maxx after Verizon 23.3 corruptdate" finally kicks the bucket (battery life sucks now since the update that added this new lte garbage that's supposedly not switched on but the new corruptdate completely turned my phone into a Samsung with its horrible battery life). I guess what I'll do is wait several weeks for this lollipop update then install it, then factory restore. Thank you to those who offered advice.

Bro stop. Wug is answering posts on his web page, his google plus page, and in 4 different XDA threads. Right now this is THE biggest update to android and thousands of people are using his software. He has rewritten it several times in the last few days for all possible outcomes. I use it constantly. It works great. You don't see comments from the thousands using it without any trouble. They don't post. Most of the problems you see are user error. And he gives his hard work away for free. People who say things like that make developers quit every day. Ungrateful kids from a generation of "I want it free, I want it perfect, and I want it now!"

I understand that, but I think to be on the safe side I should just wait until Google finally reaches the little people. Like I said, this is one thing I hate about android. Putting updates out in sections or segments. I'm glad people like wugfresh and I'm glad those thousands are not having an issue. And I'm glad he is answering the best he can. There are people responding and asking questions and saying it doesn't work who know what they are talking about and know what they are doing.

It really is best to wait for the ota update to come. They have to do it in segments, that way if there are bugs it only hits a small percentage and they can fix it. If they did it like iOS they would have the same problems apple did, tens of thousands of pi$$ed off people who got a broken update. But you are better off waiting, lots of apps haven't been updated to work on 5.0 yet. Mx player doesn't work, but they have a test build on their website that does. But I have found many others. I may go back to KitKat for a while, my dish anywhere app doesn't work.

I manually downloaded and pushed the update via adb. It literally took about half an hour to update the device. If you haven't done it before just wait. 5.0 isn't that game changing in my experience. Yes, I get wanting to have the latest and greatest...I have to have it too which is why I went to the trouble. But having done it, there's not that much that has changed. After all, google already lollipopped many of the major apps anyway. The only difference to me is the multi user mode which is really nice. Now my wife can open her own gmail on the tablet instead of having to log into the browser version.
