AT&T Will Muddy Up Your Pristine Nexus 6 With Bloatware

Really AT&T? All the main selling points of the Nexus are being flushed down the toilet. I don't mind the price but bloatware is completely unacceptable.

It's removable right? It will take you literally a few seconds to remove it. I don't see that as a deal breaker.

According to the piece, they are removable. The only AT&T bloatware I want is visual voicemail. If I need something else, I'll install it.

One thing I don't get about these corporations is, don't they understand the customer wants to be in control?

Yeah, but couldn't hurt to try. An organized effort is better than an individual one or none at all.

I'm also following and speaking out here: https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/842091?start=20&tstart=0

I realize Kellex has already posted a video with the phone working on Verizon, but who knows if it will once the masses receive theirs.

By the time the Galaxy Nexus came out, I had called the corporate office and regional sales office so much that they knew me by name. I also got a $100 credit for the phone being delayed. Squeaky wheel.

yea if a sh&tload of ppl bombbard them and force the issue something will get done. they count on us not standing together united...

We emailed and twitter bombed them for the Galaxy Nexus. I think there were many more people involved with that though. That release was unique.

Consistency my friend, yea its easy to do it one time and they jus do something to ease the masses but to do it consistently and let them know we're not gonna just go for whatever straps you throw us sends a message. Im pissed that the general public is going for this data package and edge program bullcrap!

From today's Verizon chat -

Sounds alright to me!

And a bit later he repeated that I "Need to check back tomorrow" for information on the Nex6.

The Embargo ends tomorrow, right? Sounds like Vz will announce something then...
Sounds like you really should have taken the bet. Not that you would have gotten anything from them anyway. They still could announce something today but at this time highly unlikely.

Wanting to give my N5 to the wife as a gift (she really admires my N5) and get the N6 for myself. (but need to get the 6 before I give her the 5) Don't want to purchase from a carrier, happy with my current carrier but they don't offer the N6 and I only have one credit card. Is there another way, other than a CC, to purchase the N6 from Google? I don't want the wife to see the charges on our statement.

Debit card.

Apply for Motorola Credit.
That's certainly an option - but not one I suggested as the OP was very specific as to what they wanted - "Is there another way, other than a CC, to purchase the N6 from Google?". Having a line of credit with Motorola doesn't help anyone trying to purchase from Google. Google offers two methods of purchase for cell phones on the Play store - credit and debit cards. That's pretty much it.

Actually, the way I read it is he didn't want his wife to see it on THEIR credit card. Then apply for Moto Credit and get one without her name on it.

Another way is to buy a prepaid Visa and buy it from the Play Store.

As long as we are now dreaming up ways the OP could do something other than what he actually asked, then, sure - that works. So does going to a local mobile phone store and paying cash. Or buying from one of the predators on Ebay for hundreds of dollars more than list using Paypal. Or waiting outside a store and rolling somebody for their phone. Just saying that what the OP asked was how to buy from Google. Your answer doesn't address that.

Thanks guys, yes my main concern was keeping the wife from seeing the charge, my only Visa is actual a Visa Debit and she balances the books each week. I have the cash for the phone but didn't know if I could mail a money order or what.....kinda like the Visa pre-paid card....that just might work. Thanks again for the suggestions.

If you have cash, then I would say, either Visa Pre-paid card, or go buy $700 worth of Google Play gift cards. Both will get you there.

Oh they do understand. Being in the USER CENTERED design business, I know they know. They don't care and the NSA definitely doesn't care.
