Hi all,

How long do you guys generally get before your x10 battery is ready to die??? Ive had mine close to a month now and has to be charged every night, also have a car charger as it might need a boost while driving. Im doing everything to conserve battery life, just wondering if everyone is in the same boat??

I've had my X10 for just over a week now. When I first got the phone, I had Juice Defender and my battery would generally last 15 hours before being completely drained. After removing Juice Defender and a few full discharges, the battery lasts roughly 24-25 hours before being completely drained.

Mind you, I consider myself a light user. I estimate my phone usage to be roughly 1-2 hours per day max. Main usage is checking twitter feeds, light surfing, email checking, and barely any talk time (maybe a few minutes a day). I leave my 3G enabled to whole time and I turn my wifi off about 8 hours each day (when I'm not home).

I think Juice Defender would help moderate to heavy users, but if you consider yourself a light user, you could try it, but don't be surprised if the battery performance actually gets worse (due to Juice Defender waking up to enable 3G a few times each hour).

I personally don't bother with apps like juicedefender when its pretty simple to set things yourself for example i hardly ever bother using 3G the reason is i am usually near a Wifi network that i can connect to, For some reason wifi seems to be alot easier on the battery than 3G, And 2G is perfectly fast enough for still getting updates by facebook etc.

You can use the widget to turn wifi on/off when needed.

Screen Brightness is good enough at around 50%.

Something weird but great has happened to my battery. All of a sudden, the battery is amazing and as what Sony quoted.

Before overnight, I lose about 25% but for the past 3 days, it has only been 5%. Also, with moderate use before during the day, I lose about 50% but now, it's only 20%.

I can't believe it, it is as good as the htc hero i use to have. And the thing is, I have not done anything different, did not install or uninstall any app when the battery got this good so don't know what has happened but hope it last. Have been like this for 3 days and still going, woot.

Lucky sod! Mine's still needing a charge before the day is out, but better since I got rid of Juice Defender.

I have found that task manager software blocks Timescape updates - which I do like, as a great show-off feature.

Over the past few days I've noticed a massive improvement too - without changing the SIM card which I need to do. After a days fair use, 3G websurfing, 1 hour updates of timescape, email etc, a bit of Wi-Fi, the phone used to be dead around 7pm (from unplugging at 8am), the phone is significantly better now, dying around 9-10 (around the time for bed). As long as the phone lasts the day, i'm happy.

I uninstalled juice defender and I've noticed massive improvements it's still on 99% after an hour and a half and I listened to a podcast on the way to work!

It was on about 30% after 16hours last night, screen brightness is down low and I had mobile data (3g) and wifi off using quick settings for large parts of the day. However I did make a few calls, surf a bit, played some games, try out some mobile tv and listened to music. Not really heavy use but not light use.

It seems like with time and some settings off the battery gets a lot better.

That's impressive.

I reinstalled Juice Defender, but still does nothing on my phone (widget stays on " x1.00 "). So will take it off again.

Interestingly, when I check "battery useage", majority is logged under "cell usage". Might try turning off 3g for tomorrow and see what impact it has......

^I haven't noticed Task Manager blocking Timescape updates since I've disabled it on the homescreen. Doesn't it work by adding Timescape to the ignore list? I have several widgets in the ignore list and they're updating fine.

I used Advanced Task Killer now on version 1.7.7.
Add Timescape / Mediascape to Ignore List, set Auto Kill after screen off.

Timescape work flawlessly. Battery Life improved with Auto Kill enabled.
