Greasy finger marks

I recommend getting a lens cloth and carrying that with you, I keep one in my wallet for my glasses anyway. Also keep in mind that your hair and face have high concentrations of oil (not a hygiene jab), so running your hands through your hair will get more oil on your fingers and therefore on the screen. I also clean my screen about every other day with a lens cleaning solution.

I carry my Hero in my pocket. Walking around with it in there gets the fingerprints off pretty well. :) Its a lot easier than carrying around wipes, dealing with screen protectors, etc. I keep my keys in my right pocket and my Hero in my left. Nothing goes in the left pocket other than the phone, so no scratching.

The glass screen is actually coated to be oil resistant (oleophobic).

I have a screen protector on my screen (phantom skinz - under 10 bucks for custom cut. you get two for the price of one).

The stock screen is your best bet for being able to wipe fingerprints off on your pants or shirt or other readily available fabric. The screen protectors will be more difficult to clean off than the stock screen. Its just the nature of the beast.

The cheap screen protector's from the sprint store where i bought my phone 3 days ago work great. They are the ones for $10 where you need to cut them to match your screen size and stick it on the screen. Just make sure you use a microfiber cloth to screen the screen before you put them on..

Not sure what someone means by "dealing" with screen protector's.. Once you cut it and put it on it should be care free..

You wont see finger marks on the screen anymore with those.

My only problem now is when im outside and its hot i get sweat on the screen.

On my previous touchscreen smartphones I used the Fellowes, sp?, ones from walmart where you cut them to the right size. They always kept my screens from getting scratched up, which I appreciated, but the screens never looked quite right and also they smudges and smears show up too well on them. Not to mention the scratches on them are very noticeable. So when I got my Hero I decided to try going naked for a bit to see the difference and it was night and day. When my screen is off I can see smudges and smears but once I turn on the screen it is crystal clear. Also, I use the phone the same way I did my other phones that had scratches on the screen protectors but my Hero doesn't scratch at all. Use it in my pocket all day and it works great. I do have a cleaning cloth and wipe off my screen once every day or two but there is no way I'll put a screen protector on it now. The screen is way more responsive without the cheap screen protectors, they always made it so I had to press harder on other phones.

I ended up getting the Otterbox Commuter case and am using the screen protector that came with it. Love it. I got it cheap at Cellguru.com.

I took the sp off after a couple days with it, and i'm not looking back. I hate screen protectors. They do such a good job with the naked screen, I don't want to use a shield. I work in construction, and don't have any issues with the screen scratching at all. and it is way easier to clean without the protector...
