Locks reenactment Stays On

I turn off my phone and charge it at night. the next morning the lock screen is on. I'm guessing overnight notifications are causing this. I'm not concerned about it consuming battery life since it's charging, but don't know if the (locked screen) image being displayed all night will burn permanently overtime like they say TVs without a screen saver could do. I didn't find anything under settings that looked like it would prevent the locked screen image from coming on.

If you turn your device off it should stay off, even if it is turned on the screen should turn itself off after a minute or 2 (depending on your settings).....

Do you have it set to keep the screen on while plugged in? Can't seem to find that setting at the moment, but I know it exists.
