Tasker: send sms after missed call

I've been searching for a while now and have tried a bunch of times to get this to work, but I'm missing something. What I'm trying to do is get Tasker to send an SMS to the little woman when I miss a call from her. If I test it directly from the task, it send the text message, but if I call from her phone and hang up to create a missed call... it doesn't send it. Anyone have some thoughts?

Here's what I've done:

I've created a new profile "Wife missed call"
Event
phone: missed call
priority: normal
Caller: wifes name (from phone book)

Task: "Send Text"
Send SMS
Number: wifes number
Message: sorry I missed you....

What am I missing?

Did you select her name using the list of contacts or did you type it in using the keyboard? Try removing the caller number to see if it works without the filtering. Then try specifying the caller as a number (without dashes or other delimiters) instead of a name. Lastly, try using the Missed Call state context instead.

I'm suggesting all of the above, since there's nothing obviously wrong with the profile or task.

Try Call & SMS Filter. I use it and love it. I can block calls and sms messages. When it does it automatically sends the sender a message of whatever you want.

The working solution is

Context: State > Missed Call from "1234567890"

Task: Send SMS > "1234567890" (%CNUM works too)

You're welcome. I see that you reported this in the Tasker forums as well. I'm thinking that what you had *should* work, since Tasker allows you to select a name for that field, so hopefully it will get corrected.

I did... I was desperate.

Now I'm on to getting bluetooth to shut off when it's not connected to a specific device (car mostly). I'm searching, but if you know of any good links I'd appreciate it.

This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but you could create a profile with a context of "Bluetooth Connected", specifying your car bluetooth as the device. Then, instead of using an Enter Task, use only an Exit Task, that turns bluetooth off. The main problem with this approach is that if bluetooth is on and hasn't connected to your car, it won't turn off because the profile never activates, and therefore never exits.

never had problem with single sms but can't seem to set up on All missed calls. is that the exact command? %CNUM.
edit :never mind, thanx. got it. actually I created a profile (2 of them) and both work. one is State (at first didn't, that's why I asked) and Event (actually same thing wich is strange). ay! as long as it works! lol
Event - Missed call( C:Any) , Task-send sms (%CNUM) niceeeee!

Hi, thanks, i just saw that tasker has the function to send text messages. I was using a plug-in from the play store. Thanks a lot. I will be coming for more. Newbie here.
