Root [SM-G900P] Find a -link- to what you need here

Quick update on Lickmepop. I will lose service (no service) however! When you press power Burton and get power button you will notice it says that the phone is airplane mode. All you have to do is turn it off using that button. Results are not instant. But it will return service in roughly 2minutes. Probably less honestly.

Not using ktoons only stock kernel.

If you need me to test anything just ask! I'll try to test

Quick update on lick me pop I did a dirty flash of the 24th build over the 20th. For some reason adaway / adfree refuse to block ads the host files are applied and up to date however. Might have to do a clean install but will wait until I have wifi available to me.

Update on time to get service back. It actually takes closer to like 3-5 minutes annoyingly

Just tried using the [SM-G900*] CF-Auto-Root method and everything went well but then the phone won't boot up anymore, so I'm guessing this method won't work after the recent update lol
Are you using a custom recovery? If not then not only do I recommend you do. But use Philz. It has a root my phone option. You will need either a flashable version of supersu or get it from Google play store.

"Good day all, i know this might not be the forum for this but i recently bought a G900P locked to virgin mobile but when i go under Mobile Network/Preferred Network Mode i only see LTE/CDMA and CDMA i DON'T see the GSM option anywhere, is this normal, i thought the G900P could have worked in both GSM and CDMA? Is this strictly a CDMA phone??? If anyone has any kind of insight on this i would greatly appreciate it thanks."

What Android version are you running? Mine shows GSM/UMTS as an option.
Hey just so you know on lick me pop (lollipop) I have RUIM/SIM as an option

Nah I was on 4.4.4 stock when I tried flashing on Odin, I ended up finding a stock tar that got me back to normal but now Im kind of paranoid of trying to flash any of the current root methods. *Edit* ok So I was able to use the Philz recovery method from the first page while on version 4.4.2 and now have root, thanks for the suggestion Vivis

Hi there, I am really hoping someone can help me out. i have a Galaxy S5 G900P which is from Sprint in the USA. I am using it in New Zealand. I have unlocked it using SSU.apk which has has allowed me to use it for calling/txting by simply changing mobile networks to UMTS after the unlock was done. which is great, but I can not use data as I can not change the APN. can someone help? the phone allows me to access the APN's and add and save them, but never to select it as an option. when i exit settings, the apn remains there (along with main sprint apn's) but no data at all. i have double and triple checked the APN's to all be correct as per my carrier and matched them to my samsung i9506. my carrier has also tried to push the APN and MMS settings to me OTA but they dont come through. I have tried everything from flashing 4.4.2, 4.4.4 and even went up to 5.0 which was done OTA. While the unlock remained in place, data did not work at all. I modified the build.prop and added

ril.sales_code=LOL
ro.csc.sales_code=LOL

to the end of it when I was on 5.0 which opened up a SECOND list of mobile network options: gsm/wcmda/lte but still no data access.

I understand most in this thread will be G900P experts so Im hoping someone can help.

thanks in advance

You need your MSL# (ask your carrier if you don't already have it)
From your dial pad dial ##data# ( I'm pretty sure that's the code that you need to access... if not can somebody please correct me)
Then find the settings for the APN and copy those down. after you have them copied, then change them to the APN you need for your area. save it. I think the phone might reboot.

Test to see if it works

Good luck

Thanks for your reply. These are the options I have under my hidden data menu. As you can see, the only option for APN is LTE APN Settings under 'other' however this is not applicable to me as the LTE frequencies we use in NZ are not the same as what the G900P is capable of. Therefore I just need 3G (UMTS) data working. Regardless, I did make sure I entered the correct APN settings under that option. There is no other APN option there. So i know i might not get a reply because no ones really been on here in a while but i have to try . aslo its weird to me we don't have a section for the boost Galaxy s5 since we do for the s3.

I upgraded to the s5 from my s3 i rooted and installed custom recovery what im wondering is has anyone tried the new lollipop moar the one Based on Lollipop OA6 firmware for sprints s5.

If so im wondering how did you install it and does the stock sprint tw lollipop rom run fine ,as of my knowledge boost hasn't got the lollipop update yet so im skeptical to try and flash the stock lollipop tw rom then install moar

Any suggestions, help or personal experinces would be appricated

Hi,
I have a Virgin Mobile S5 which like Boost, is a subsidiary of Sprint. I previously had a Sprint S3 flashed to Boost and ran MOAR Rom with no problems. I am currently running MOAR 6.1 LP on my phone and love it! It is the best rom for S5 in my opinion. The devs are great for MOAR and are currently working on MOAR 6.2. Below are the links to the MOAR main thread and the Q&A/FAQ thread. The OP for the Q&A/FAQ thread has detailed steps on flashing OA6 firmware (I would suggest the full tarball), custom recoveries, kernel's, modems, MOAR Rom and additional mods. You won't need to worry about root as MOAR is rooted. Of course, you are responsible for your phone so make sure you know what you are doing. : ) I'm sure you do but always have to throw that in. Great bunch of folks on the MOAR threads who are always helping one another. I'm also including the link to the MOAT Inverted theme (Mother of All Themes) that you can use with MOAR. Great stuff and great guys there too!! Hope this was helpful and Good luck! Hope to see you on the MOAR thread!!

Edit: you had mentioned you weren't sure if Boost S5 got upgrade to LP. Looks like that happened in Feb.

Okay I figured everything out when I went to buy the phone set it up and used it for about half a day checking for updates I still was on 4.4.2 and it said i was updated. So I then just rooted and installed custom recovery then I found out sprint had 5.0 so I wanted to install it not knowing boost actually did update to lollipop in February so that was my fault

I'm now on stock lollipop I ended up downloading the 4.4.4 stock boost tw rom from Sams mobile website the lollipop rom wouldn't download from there website for some reason but here's the link to our Stock firmware starting at 4.4.2
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G900P/BST/ they even have it under (bst)for boost and if your on Virginmobile they have (vum)

But after I downloaded it i used Odin installed it then let it settle then checked for an update then let it download the lollipop update then install and now I'm on stock lollipop and since I didn't loose any data i still have my super su installed but when I open it it says I need to reroot lol I didn't have time to put Phillz touch recovry or twrp on it or reroot but I will when I get home.
Then I'll make a backup and then flash MOAR thanks for everyone's help
