Remember people, you need to cycle through a few recharge and use until dead to calibrate the power readings. Don't trust the power percentage.

I'm really curious if we have a very vocal minority or its a big hit or miss getting an Incredible.

Mine has had perfectly acceptable battery life from heavy use and very good voice quality as well as no reception problems and very good data rates.

My only problems with this phone is quality Application availability, hard to configure lock screen (Android problems) and GVoice integration.

Lets have a poll to see how widespread these problems are.

Its a android user forum so of course most people are going to come here if they have a problem. Its compounded by the fact that this place has good search engine rankings for just about any incredible problem you can name.

At the same time this place probably represents less than 5% of all incredible users. And even a smaller % of those are disgruntled or are having issues. Out of the thousands of theads here only a few have complained their unit was defective or broken.

How about the possibility of responding that I don't have any problems? I've had mine since launch day, and everything is perfect! :)

Besides, if you only poll folks with problems, then you'll find that 100% of the folks polled have problems! Not indicative of overall quality.

eta.. just noticed your edit in your post... yup, I'd be in that "No Problem" category!

eta again... there it is! voting now!

An option for "other problem" would be appropriate as well.

My screens touch sensor was defective from the get-go. It started out seemingly innocuous ("dead spots") and finally became non-usable (none of the soft buttons worked and the screen would detect touches that were not happening e.g. the home screen zooming in and out).

Re: battery problems, I would argue that it's too early to tell until you break in the battery. You should have seen the Blackberry Tour battery life with OS 4.7. I got under 4 hours on my first few charges. It improved some afterwards and markedly after an OS upgrade. But anyhow, see if people are still moaning about batteries in about a week.

I agree that it's too early for battery problems. Mine has been getting better the more I cycle it. It's the perception of the battery indicator dropping that scares people, if they'd actually let it go until it dies they'd see how long it really lasts. That being said, it's good to know that there are things we can do to make it last longer.

All of that being said, I do have issues with call quality where I onl hear maybe 70% of what the other person is saying. This isn't so much an issue with perception, I just don't like having to say "what" all the time.

Everything about this phone is amazing though, I am extremely happy with everything both HTC and Google have done with the customizability and usability of this potentially extremely complicated device. I would still recommend it to anyone looking for an incredible device!

I had battery and voice problems. Just got back from Best Buy, where they did a replacement no questions asked. Quick call sounded better, but need to test more. I immediately drained battery to shutoff playing video and am now charging with phone off to full again.

Hopefully, both issues will be improved with this replacement.

Every time a device is new, the internet is bombarded with horror stories. Big reason being that if there are 100 users of a given device, only about 10 are going to be motivated enough by liking it to talk about how great it is, but if 5 are having problems they're ABSOLUTELY going to be motivated enough to either go ask for help or just b*tch about it.

So when you look around on the internet, you see a full 1/3 of posts about problems and extrapolate the info into "holy crap, a third of Incredibles are buggy??" Not so. This is NOT a good place to get a representative sample. It's not an even cross-section.

FWIW: my battery doesn't last a full day, but considering I play with it almost constantly that's not a "problem".

My HTC Incredible REFUSES to reboot after powering down. When attempting to restart after powering down, my devices goes into a mode whereby it attempts to reboot over and over but FAILS to start unless I first pull the battery. Of course the device is OUT OF STOCK in Sarasota until next Monday or Tuesday per the Verizon rep. Will get a replacement then. If it happens with the next device within the 30 day return period, I will refund it and then hop on over to Sprint and the HTC Evo. Also, the battery life is DEFINITELY worse when compared to my iPhone 3GS, significantly worse!

Battery life problems for me.

The phone was on the stock charger the last two nights for at least 6 hours. In the couple of minutes between disconnecting it from the charger and making my way to the kitchen, the battery dropped from 100% to 93% both days. Last night the phone was at 75% when it began charging so 6 hours should have been plenty to charge and top off with the trickle.

I think I have either a bum battery or faulty charging bits in the phone. I've had it since launch day so it has been through a number of cycles so far for the power logic to calibrate itself.

I love the phone otherwise.

I'm a mod over on everythingicafe, but I have an Incredible waiting for me at home to test (I live in MD but am in SC until Friday).

I'm looking forward to using and testing it. I played with one briefly yesterday at Best Buy and it was really responsive.

I also agree that many people who aren't experiencing problems with their cell phones don't post on forums.
