What is "Open Home" or "Ahome"?


I keep seeing a lot of themes/fonts that require open home, but I'm not sure what it is or how to get it.

I was able to find the ahome app once and it said the price was $3.99, but now I'm not able to find it even on a search.

Is there a way to get it for free?

Its a desktop management system like the one for windows xp, i forget the name exactly but its a general desktop management program that lets you add many different widgets and not to mention if you like using one screen and not accidentally sliding crap to another screen it will lock you to one screen.

I have ahome and I love it, been using it since I first got my G1 over the summer.

Disclaimer.... I do not have anything to do with 91panda home. I just like it alot.


I used ahome and didnt like it, I would go with 91panda (its free) it can use almost every other theme out there.

Themes can change your wallpaper and android specific icon to look different. 91panda also gives me the ability to have 11 screens on the "desktop". You can also change the wallpaper and leave the icon "themed".

When you first download and use 91panda home it will ask you if you want to use it as your default "home" screen. I would advise against that. One reason is with the latest update people that had panda as thier default "home" screen had major problems as soon as they updated. If you leave it as an option, each time you press home it will ask you wich one, you have an escape if something goes wrong.

I would give 91panda a try and play with for a few days. You can always delete it and any themes you download. Just try the free themes first and see what you like.
