Who else HASN'T bought their Incredible yet?

I really thought I'd be going crazy right now, but I'm just not missing it. I've been waiting for the Incredible since the Droid came to Verizon, but now that it's out, I don't have the same burning urge to go get one. I had to change phones and providers a couple days before the Incredible came out, so I bought a cheapo Net10 Kyocera (complete with monochrome screen!) to tide me over. Now that I've been using it for about a week, I actually kind of like the freedom of it. Throw it in my pocket or in the car's cup holder, no worries. Drop it in the dirt, who cares? Somebody sends me an e-mail? They can wait until I get home. Battery lasts for DAYS.

So far, I only really miss the integration with my Google Apps contact list, and this thing doesn't text worth a darn, but otherwise it's actually kind of liberating. I'll be getting an Incredible soon enough, but I think I'll enjoy this thing just a little longer.

Well I haven't, but that's not by choice. I pre-ordered on the 25th but for some reason I didn't get it the 29th and found out later that they had canceled my order for some reason. Then I ordered through a CSR yesterday who said I would have it by Thursday. Call today to get my shipping info and find out they won't be shipping until the 13th. I canceled that order and decided to just wait until the stores have them in stock. Tired of being jerked around by Verizon's "customer service".

You obviously don't need or enjoy a smartphone very much if you're happy with that and waiting til you get home to read/respond to emails. I almost envy you for feeling that way. I'm just way too plugged in to wait 10 hours to do that. And all of the other fun/cool features of this phone. It's a dream come true.
I think it's mostly due to the fact that I'm taking a short sabbatical from work right now. Come next month, I'll be plugged back in and ready for the Incredible.

I wasn't able to pre-order because my update wasn't until the day of the release. I didn't have a chance to get to the store this last weekend and when I called on monday all of the corperate stores were sold out, and would not be restocking until thursday. so hopefully i will get one this weekend! I am still very anxious/excited to get it, but its nice reading about issues (although few and far between) and such that I can look out for when my inc is in my hands ;)

I have been eligible for an upgrade since January but have been waiting because the upgrade for the second phone on my plan is 5 months behind mine. I want our next phones to be activated on the same day so that the contract will be renewed on the same day. That wait will come to an end in precisely 32 hours! I just hope it doesn't take too long to ship...

I haven't bought mine yet. :( I get paid on Friday, and I'm going to order it then. Time seems to be passing by so slowly... :p And I'm anxious that the backorder date might be pushed back even further by then >.<

Although it did console me to read that May 14th is the date people should get their phone by, and not the date it will be shipped (I'm not sure I could survive waiting for until the 17th at the earliest!)

Shrug. You're the one that took the time to come online, to the Incredible section, and make a post that...you haven't bought the Incredible? Not only that you haven't bought it, but you haven't bought it by choice, and you are happy with your decision.

I'm sorry, but it's just so very random.

Oh how I wish I could cut that tie... but, I can't.

I hadn't upgraded for almost three years. My wife and I were both using Palm Centros, if you can believe it. I had been waiting for the right phone to come along, and this is it. I ordered and received on the 26th. It's a whole different world from the Centro.

Once I get mine working like I want, I'll order my wife a new Incredible as well.

I'm pleased with my decision. The phone and the network are working just right for me.

My annual upgrade date is at the end of May so I haven't got one yet. Now that it's out and I've had a chance to mess around with it a few times at Best Buy and the Verizon store, I still really want it. However, now that we're hearing that the Motorola Shadow could be out in June, I think I'm going to wait a little longer and see how that turns out.

Wow you guys take this phone business really serious lol.

To be honest, what the original poster said and what everyone else said is what's out of line. The OP is choosing to not get the phone, and bragging that he's ok without it, while everyone else really wants the phone but for whatever reason (stocking issues, financial, etc.) can't buy it it yet. I have all the sympathy in the world for everyone else that doesn't have their phone yet because of issues out of their control.

I don't have any sympathy for someone coming here with an elitist "look at me!" type attitude that he doesn't have, want, or need the phone. Sorry, I just don't get it and I'll leave you guys to your own corner of the forums. :p

We can all admit that we are smartphone addicts around here, BUT when I was in Europe last year I didn't carry a phone with me at all. It is in fact one of the most liberating technological experiences that you can have. Anymore we all have the inflated sense of importance because we can (and usually are) contacted at all points in the day and night. When you go without a phone, or one with limited capability, for a few weeks it really becomes obvious how those e-mails, texts, and calls just aren't overly necessary.

With that said...I've had my Incredible since 4/28 :D
