HTC Inc or HTC EVO (when it drops)???

Just got back from the VZW store in my area, and got a chance to play around with the Inc, and I really really like it.

The sales rep told me that if I bought one now that they could have it to me in 3-5 days. I seriously almost pulled out my credit card, and told him ring me up.

The only reason I didn't is because I really want the EVO. Here's the problem with that. The sales rep at the Sprint store said it was a possiblity that it was going to drop late summer, and another sales rep said it may not be until early Fall. I don't think they new what they were talking about.

Anyway, I'm pretty much looking for everyone's opinion on what should I do. I'm on the fence, and I'm putting a lot of faith into the people here, but I trust the intelligent input of my fellow Android users here.

TIA

Anyone know anything about pricing? I've considered returning my incredible to get the Evo but I don't want to pay $250+ for the phone and have a 4G or some other surcharge every month if they were going to bill one for the Evo.

Sprint has said that there will be no surcharge with 4G data, only a $10 a month fee to use it as a mobile hotspot (for up to eight devices).

That doesn't seem to be too bad.

I just hope the EVO is launched to the public before I end up getting the Inc. I just want to be able to play around with the EVO, and see how it feels in my hand compared to the Inc. That's what its pretty much going to come down to, at least for me.

I've kinda been in the same boat as you, trying to decide between the two. I went to both the Sprint and Verizon store to check out the phones, and while the Sprint store didn't have the Evo on the floor, obviously, they had an HD2. So I played around with it, mostly just to see what it feels like in my hand. It was nice, not as big as it looked on the internet, but because of the big plastic attachment on the back to keep it tethered to the counter I didn't get a very realistic sense of how it feels.

There were a couple things that made me decide on the Incredible, however. I don't know how comfortable I'd be taking the Evo out in public -- on the train, in a bus, heck even in a well populated park. It would just make me uncomfortable to hold something that screamed "BIG PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY HERE UP FOR GRABS" y'know? Also, a small consideration, I was kind of amped about the HDMI out for the Evo until I realized I don't even own an HD tv or monitor of any sort. All my televisions have composite-in along with most of my friends and family -- people I might want to share stuff with from my phone.

One last thing that made me decide on the Incredible was the network. Granted, I'm not all that spoiled with AT&T and the iPhone at the moment, but with Verizon's reputation as being the most solid network and its improving LTE I'm not worried about speed or stability.

It pretty much all came down to, "Do I really need such a big screen?" Sure, watching videos and maybe playing games would be a better experience, but it's not like the Incredible is lacking in video playback. Plus, I can't say definitely, how awkward would telephone calls be with such a large device? How would longer conversations feel after the hour mark? I guess those would be good questions for an HD2 user.

Oh, and there are rumors that the Evo will be priced at $200 at Best Buy when it's released early to mid June. These are rumors though.

Evo 4G rumored price is at $200
Rumour: EVO 4G to cost $199 From Best Buy

It kind of got long winded there, sorry 'bout that, this is my first post!
