Trouble installing Swype

I'm trying to install Swype from instructions found here:
Download Swype for Android Beta | Android Central

I'm stuck on number 4. How do I get the file from my computer to my phone? I'm not seeing anything that shows my phone is connected to my computer... I'm on a macbook and a moto droid. Thanks!

Just email yourself that link and open it with your phone, use astro to install, enable swype, long press in text input box and select swype and you're golden.

ok, its downloaded and its asking me what application i want to open it with. What do i use? sorry but i'm new to this lol

Hmmm... if I remember correctly you need to open something that uses a keyboard- web browser or whatever- then you need to choose input method... hang on a sec I'll try to walk you through the steps...

well when i downloaded the file to my computer and then click on it, my only option is to choose an application to launch it. I cant drag the file to my droid box.

Easiest thing to do is email yourself that link and click on it from the email on your phone... install it once it's downloaded then choose input method to start using it...

Should work either way though I guess...

WHAAT! when i tried to use it a message came up that says "The Swype package you installed does not match the screen size of the device. Please contact Swype about this issue. Screen size: 480 x 854"

Dude... I'm totally at a loss. What phone are you on? I had a problem getting this version to work on my dad's motoDroid, but it hasn't skipped a beat in the INC for me... I'm sorry.

Try uninstalling- power cycle- reinstall- reselect... after that try the guys at the tips and tricks thread... I'm at a loss as to why it won't work based on screen size...
