Root rom question

im looking into flashing a rom on my phone, its an LG optimus F6 MS500, and i was just wondering if its possible to flash any rom to it and itll work, or r there roms that'll work specifically for each phone? i was looking at a list of roms that compare their features and i liked pacrom and dirty unicorn since they seemed the most customizable. but i cant find any specifically for my phone so i started to wonder if they work for any phone or if theyre just for certain phones... sorry im still a noob and this is my 1st android phone so this is all really new to me. thanks guys

All android roms are device specific.
The rom must be built for that device.

Welcome to the Android F6 Forum.
Like viperdink said, you must use a ROM that is specifically built for your device.

So DON'T INSTALL any of Pacman ROM or Dirty Unicorn ROM you found from internet. There are no F6 version of them as far as we know, so they will brick your phone real bad.


There's few alternatives though, if you like customization, try CM11 ROM.

But this is still beta stage and it requires additional settings (like APN setting for data connection, installing additional Google apps, possible Build.Prop update), I won't recommend it to 1st time Android User.

You may want to try little more stable ROMs such as Xperion or Dana first. Once you are comfortable with rooting, flashing etc, try those CM11 ROM.

There is nothing to download anyways lol. You can fill out surveys and and sign up for insurance quotes and jump through whatever hoops they ask you to but it never ends. You will die of old age with an inbox full of spam emails and tons of debt cause someone sold your identity on the black market before they give you a real download link.
There are dozens of sites exactly like this claiming to have a ROM that doesn't exist. Just for shiggles I did some searching and the idiots who make these scam sites even have ones posted for the optimus f60 and zte zmax which both have locked bootloaders and no working root method. ROTFLMAO!!

PS: For any noobs who may not know better, a ROM is always packaged in a single zip file and never split into two or three files that have to be combined into one before flashing.
Before lollipoop was released when kitkat was still the newest thing I almost fell for this site until I saw that all the hoops they want you to jump through involve giving your personal info to unknown companies that might not even be real.

Also: No self respecting independent developer will make you jump through hoops to download a ROM. They do it because it is something they genuinely enjoy doing, not for personal gain. The most they might do is post a link for PayPal donations which are a completely optional gesture of gratitude. If they were in it for the money they'd work for samsung, lg, crapple, or some other manufacturer.

The most stable ROM I've found for the F6 is Xperion ROM which can be found on here. I've been running it basically since I got my phone at it has performed well and remained extremely stable. Highly recommended.
