So I am sick of this bad signal problem. I talk to the best buy mobile store where i bought it. The manager told me you can stop a contract as long as it is within 30 days. He told me he knows the Evo 4 is coming out the 6th. He said wait a week and a half return the phone, Port to sprint to a free phone, put name on Evo 4 preorder, and when Evo comes out return free phone for evo4. Lots of work but not worth spending two year on crappy service with crappy battery life. Its two bad very very nice phone. I wish they would get it right. I will give them a week and a half.

I would look into the number porting a little bit. I don't think it's that easy to do when you're disconnecting your line. I've never done it, but I thought it was more involved...like I think they tell you when porting not to cancel your existing line.

No, its not a matter of caring, but you started a thread about how you're returning the phone, but, really...why would anyone here need to know this? I'm not tryin' to be a jerk to you, I just don't understand the point of the post.

So people whho are think about getting one read this thread and think twice before wasting there money and getting stuck with sub par service for two years.

NOt to add fuel to the fire but the incident involved with your Inc. is relatively minute. Not everyone is having that problem, in fact I would venture a guess and say that as little as 2-7% of Inc. users are having problems as serious as yours. And I hope for your sake it is a carrier issue and not a product issue because if it's a product issue you may want to think twice about going to another HTC. Just my .02 I hope things get better for you in the next week and a half.

service varies from one person to another since we all dont live and work at the same place. and if one of your provlems is with battery life, good luck with the evo. doesnt it have the same battery? + bigger screen + searching for "4G" reception....dont get me wrong, if verizon got the evo i'd get it for sure.

the grass is always greener on the other side

I just wanted to let others know who are not satisfied this is an option and wanted to see what they though

And that in and of itself is commendable. But the wording and refinement to your statment is lacking and is borderline flaming/ trolling. Like I said before I hope the issue is a service issue (i.e. VZW is for some unknown reason not very strong in your area) and I hope for you that switching to sprint solves your issues. But it is a FACT that VZW has the most extensive and far superior cellular coverage across the continental US and more than likely the issue lies in a faulty handset. Your solution of going to another HTC product makes very little sense from the standpoint of already having a faulty product from them.

Sorry to hear about your probs OP. I'm having similar issues with my Incredible which I don't have with my Motorola Droid. The signal quality is confusing me on this phone but I'll keep using it for the time being. Luckily for me, I still have my Moto Droid if all else fails :D

You start a thread complaining about your reception on your phone and you have Verizon which has the largest and most expansive 3G network in the US. So your solution is to port your number over to Sprint which is even worse than AT&T in hopes of getting a better signal? Call me crazy but that's the dumbe$t thing I have ever heard.

Its funny. I had a moto droid before and am actually having less trouble with the Inc. In my office I get 1 bar on 3G. The Moto droid would often fall back to 1x. My Inc seems to stay at 3G quite well and actually hovers from 1-2 bars of 3G. Also, a few tweaks to apps my battery life is quite usable.

I thought my signal was week at the office today. I was showing off the Incredible to some vzw folks that were there to sale phones but none of them had laid their hands on the Incredible. Even though 3g signal showed week. It flew like nobodies business. I think the readings probably were not correct. It was flying and they were highly impressed. I think they were most impressed with my boot up that I changed. They had me do it like 2 or 3 times lol.

Had ATT before this never below 3 bar even in the middle of no where. I live a populated area and my phone currently has 1 bar and a signal of -95dBm. never seen at 4 bars more than a couple of seconds

Not sure where you live, OP, but my understanding is that Sprint has one of the worst networks out there. I can certainly tell you that's the fact in the California Bay Area.

But good luck getting a better call quality on Sprint's network if you get the EVO. ;)

you go to Sprint, they have the best coverage

NEWSFLASH: carrier quality and coverage vary from city to city, and place to place.

could you link me to this thread please? Is a bad batch of phones or software?

I could certainly direct you to the search function, it's 100% better way of using forums ;) and there is nothing "bad" about it, it doesn't affect the actual call quality it just misinforms the user. And it is most certainly a software issue that may or may not be resolved with an upcoming OTA update.

NEWSFLASH!!! Why don't you go over to the Sprint coverage map and take a peek at where they have coverage versus Verizon's coverage map. I have personally checked out the coverage map in the California Bay Area for both where I live and Sprint's isn't even close to Verizon's coverage. Obviously there is different coverage in different cities but Sprint's is way less than Verizon's in just about every area...
