Lollipop (Android 5.0) on Awe?

This phone never saw an official 4.2 thru 4.4 update...so its safe to assume it'll never see an official update to Lollipop. A custom ROM has been and will likely be the only way you'll see any Android version updates for the Awe.

There's no Lollipop branch of CM or AOSP source yet. So no.

5.0 is available now but the radio doesn't quite work properly yet. Keep an eye on the forum, it's being fixed rather quickly

If you're rooted 5.0 has been available for a while. Now there are several 5.1.1 variants available, DU, CM12.1 etc. Just look in the Awe all things root section.

I discovered them and tried the method mentioned in the link I posted below but the directions were not clear enough for me to follow, and I got the "installation aborted" or whatever message. I'm a newb.

Your likely getting an error 7 message, meaning you'll need to update your recovery. Which recovery version are you using? Next never go to those sites for ROMs or root information, they're typically incomplete or not even for your device. You can find everything you need here...

Thank you. I gave up on that one I was trying. And I use TWRP version 7.5.1.3. Also, I looked into the all things root forum and saw 2 different forums that I was curious about. Both by the same person, for 5.1.1 I think. One was labeled Dirty Unicorns in the title and the other was just called CM12.1. Which one would you recommend or are they pretty much the same?

Honestly I no longer own the device, just have some buddies there still and try to help where I can. Although from my reading I'd gather DU is the more popular ROM.
