Helped my girlfriend's sister with an experiment on my son's diapers tonight checking the absorbency. Liquid used was red kool-aid a tablespoon at a time. Diapers used were Huggies, Pampers, and Parent's Choice.

Parent's Choice being the cheap brand I figured it would lose. Huggies and Pampers are about the same price, so I figured one would be great and the other not so great.

On to the results.

First leaks appeared:

Huggies - 10 tablespoons
Pampers - 13 tablespoons
Parent's Choice - 18 tablespoons.

The Parent's Choice brand feels like cardboard to me and doesn't seem to be as comfortable, but it didn't leak near as fast. Now if a parent actually lets their child sit in that much urine, that's another topic. But was useful information as I have a 8 month old son. Just thought I'd share.

Never heard of 'Parent's Choice' nappies, are they an American brand? We use Pampers. We tried Huggies because we got a free pack but they just didn't fit right and leaked. Pampers all the way.

On another note for any new parents. Breast feed for as long as possible. Breast fed nappies do not smell! As soon as you move onto formula milk expect a stinky house.
