Recently, my Eris has been screaming at me about running out of memory . . .

Went to check out my Apps and clear necessary cache and noticed that ZAGAT '10 is now a 49.69MB Application?! WTF?

The Application itself is only 756KB, but there is 48.95MB worth of Data.

It won't let you clear data, so my only option is to Uninstall. This is a paid app and I use it quite frequently.

Any suggestions? Uninstall then reinstall from Market?

Go to Settings, Applications. Find Zagat in the list and click on it. Look at the information there regarding how much space is being used.

I don't use the app, but I got a feeling it's cache that's built up over time. 43 MB seems like a ton of cache, but even if 5 MB of it is cache, that's a ton.

Go through all your apps in the application list and try and clear the cache of all the the apps, namely the internet browser, games, and anything you use constantly. Google Maps also takes a ton of room with its cache if you use that often.

If it is all data and there is not an option to clear then delete and reinstall really is your only option. I had to do this with Slacker quite a bit when I still used it.

Yeah, I figured that was the case. Pain in the butt that a company like ZAGAT wouldn't build an app that Caches correctly, but the app is TOTALLY worth it for $10. I've found the best places to eat wherever I've been.

My primary concern, having never Uninstalled a paid app, is that I would lose the app. I would "assume" that, provided I make all of my moves from within Market, this wouldn't be an issue.

I've never had an issue and actually have a couple of games sitting in the market that I have purchased, but no longer keep on my phone. You should be able to re download from the market with no problem.
