Root CM12.1 Unofficial Beta

bad_mofo: is this dirty flash approved? just got everything settled back into the groove.
I always recommend clean flashing, less things to go wrong. No harm in trying though, just have a good backup.
Or just wait a day or so, I'm sure someone will try a dirty flash.

netflix unfortunately not working, and i think the above is part of it. its something with the h264 decoder not working, most likely a stagefright plugin configured incorrectly. this is whats causing youtube to not play in 480 also, and is affecting the cm11 caf rom too.

as to what to do to fix it? still scratching my head lol. but awesome work, this rom has really come a long way from where it started. it feels pretty polished to me.

Also, HOLY LTE BATMAN!

I don't know what you did with this new build, but you fixed the broken LTE on my virgin mobile volt after 3 months without it. Excellent work sir, bravo. I think we need to have some of the other guys with broken LTE flash this and see if it fixes anything for them too.

All I did was flashed the newest cm12 zip, flashed gapps, and flashed the virgin APN fix. Then after it booted, I went into APN settings and selected ehrpd, and it auto switched to LTE for the first time in 3 months.

its fine now, i always clean flash.. but the rom seems to running a bit off kinda laggy.. just notice under processor settings its on 998mhz and i can't change it to 1593mhz.. is this intentional as i see added kexec to kernel in the op. any ideas?

edit: nevermind after a few minutes i tried to change it again and it was already on 1593mhz.. kinda weird cuz that never happened or the volume thing never happened either.. oh well i'll clean flash again in the morning to see if that clear things up.. just to be clear all is working fine, thanks again for update!

Was this a clean flash? Also, are you having any issues with your data signal completely cutting out, like after phone calls or just randomly out of nowhere?

yep complete clean flash, i didnt just factory reset and let the updater script wipe it, i wiped everything but internal sdcard in twrp. also, my virgin volt is inactive right now so i cant test thoroughly, but i made a test call to hear virgin's low balance recording and i didnt notice my signal drop out like it used to when lte wasnt working. signal dropouts were every few minutes when lte was borked, now it seems pretty consistent.

edit: also bad_mofo, have you checked out the d405 stock lollipop kernel from lg open source code distribution? http://opensource.lge.com/osSch/list?types=ALL&search=d405

our x5 defconfig is still there, and it seems to have a couple edits from the kitkat version that came with our device. might be worth it to see what changed from your cm12 kernel to that with meld. also would be cool if someone built that kernel and tried to port the d405 stock rom to our device since their so similar if anyone wants to take on the challenge.

I'll flash it sometime today, I've had broken LTE for a long time now, and nothing has worked to fix it.

i was having the same problem.....i was drunk the other night...i started messing around with it...and got it to work..and stick on LTE. ...i can remember porting the apnconf.xml file from my prevaile LTE on boost to the lg volt after flashing the fix. went into radio secret menu with radio switcher app..and set it to LTE CDMA.....set apn to the lte one....did a reboot and BAAAAAMMMMMM!!!! worked like a charm

Speakerphone volume is still low. But other than that ridiculously minute issue, I'm absolutely happy with everything.
perfect...ill be sure to do the same as you did w/the dirty flash.......question.....how is your internal memory?....is it pretty shitty as far amount out have...it says 5gb to use but only 2.5 available....i even wiped internal and still about the same...i know the os doesnt need 3GB to run.

I've got a ton of apps on already and performance hadn't suffered too much.
