I purchased MyBackup Pro and tried to transfer my contacts, apps, etc from one HTC incredible to another. I activated the new phone, instealled MyBackupPro on it, and restored. Only problem is, my contacts came through corrupted, so didn't transfer.

Now I need to go back to my old phone and get the contacts off of it using MYBackup Pro. But the phone won't let me past the activation screen. I don't want to reactivate it, I just want to use the app to download the contact information to the SD card.

Why is it requiring activation to transfer information? How do I fix?

I don't know if this will work for the Incredbile but I read reports of it working with the Eris. If you attempt to reboot it several times (I recall the magic number being 3) then it will bypass the activation screen. However, it might be easier for you to let it dial the activation number, choose option 3 and activate it. Do your save, then take the other phone and dial *228, option 3 and activate that one. It doesn't cost anything and will accomplish what you want.

.... exactly what I was going to recommend.
FYI, the "Activation" screen only appears if you wipe the phone (factory reset). If the old phone is "deactivated" without wiping it, you will still have access to all content.
If the phone is indeed wiped clean, there may be a workaround to get past the Activation screen, but the next question is, will you be able to download MyBackup from the market with a deactivated phone?

Best bet is to turn off the Incredible (recommended remove battery too), activate your old phone, redownload MyBackup, rebackup then switch back to the Inc. & restore.
