hello, I cannot mount my phone to my computer. I've tried everything from installing new drivers, to debugging on and off. Nothing seems to work. Anyone still having this problem? please help. I contacted htc, and they don't know what the hell they're talking about. one told me to dl htc sync 2.0.33 then another said to get the latest 2.0.25.....

yep, tried all that too... i dont know.... i give up.
thanks all for helping.

One more shot, uninstall your sync software completely. Redownload the correct version (I dont know which one that is atm) and do a fresh install. That's all I got for fixes... Good luck if you keep trying, it took me a week of effing around with it to get it running, fwiw.

Try this, go to Deposit Files and download the file to your desktop once downloaded extract the content (everything inside the folder Vista_x64 and your folder should look like the attached screen shot) to C:\Program Files (x86)\HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files then reboot the computer, open HTC Sync then plug in phone, once plugged in from the phone select htc sync ... it should connect from this point on.
I have done this on many of my customers laptops with success and have yet to hear about them coming back with sync issues

It didn't work for me either at first.
Make sure you disabled your anti virus first.
I uninstalled the HTC Sync and the device driver that is in the same folder. ( i had it installed a while ago, but i had forgotten about it because it wouldn't work)
With the phone unplugged from the computer, i downloaded the HTC sync from here:
HTC Mobile Phone Support - HTC Hero? (Sprint) - Downloads

to uninstall the HTC sync and the driver, go to start>all programs>HTC>HTC driver, then click uninstall and then uninstall the rest of HTC sync.

Worked like a charm until the cable stopped working.
