Help Slow LTE speeds.

Hi everybody, for some reason I'm getting slow lte speeds (slower than the zmax, 2g speeds to be exact.) 4g seems to be faster on this phone. Is this a phone issue or a tower issue?.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thank you,
Anthony.
I'm guessing you're experiencing some measure of "Network Access Prioritization".
If you're on MPCS,I'd put money on it.
Check again in a couple hours or so,after prime time,so to speak & see if speeds improve.
Getting back to the prioritization, what is your average monthly data use & how far are you into your current billing cycle.
Or,perhaps it's a tower issue.
Probably will be able to judge if it's a tower issue if it's still 2G later tonight & again in the morning.

My other phones have faster LTE than the Stylo by a significant amount and this is from the same location(home) on the same carrier. I think we need a new modem update from LG. That could be what they were trying to fix with the v10i update, but failed.

It seems divided with this phone. Some folks say lte and gps is great for them while others not so much.

I'm not saying LTE is bad, I'm just saying it's nowhere near as good as my other phones.

I'm getting on average about 1Mbps down & up,not much better on T-Mobile on my other phone.
I have a booster in the house for T-Mobile,& I bet if I turned it off,I'd be on 2g.Not a good spot @ home,WI-FI is my friend here.
However,back to the Stylo:
We may not be comparing apples to apples, not sure,as I'm on the MS63110D update, not the latest.
I'll take the Stylo to work tomorrow, where T-Mobile's signal is off the charts @ 40-50Mbps,hoping MPCS is anywhere near that.
I'll post my results around noon tomorrow........

Ok so around 11:30 I had about 6 down earlier when I first posted I had 0.35 down (funny I got about 3-8 on 4g) . Across the street from the tower less than a mile from my house I get about 33. 6 is better it's not the 12-16 I got with the zmax. I have no idea what's going on. Thank you all for the help and replies I'm looking forward to more.

You lucky devil lol. :p
Yeah, @ work,where WI-FI is plentiful.
Would like to bottle up a bit of that to take home for use.
I'm only 5 or so miles from work when @ home, right smack in the geographical center of town & both Sprint/Boost & T-Mobile/MetroPCS are quite weak, contrary to map representations.
With Sprint,I'm literally the same distance between two towers, phones want to bounce back & forth between the two thinking the grass is greener......
T-Mobile would be OK w/some lower frequency bandwidth,I believe,20 ft outside of my house is decent strength (15-20 down),but, nowhere near the 40 down/20 up @ work.

Here we go 1.96 on lte 12.30 on 4g last night. Today across the street from the tower 32.83 that's 0.2 miles from my house. Any ideas as to what is going on?.
Thank you for all the help.
Anthony.

No I'm not rooted and no tweaks. I'll give your instructions a try. What exactly does it do?. I'm by no means an expert especially not with lg phones. Thank you for your help.

I have a metro stylo and one thing that helped a little was to switch to T-mobile apn.

Here's the t-mobile apn I'm using in case anyone needs it...
Code:
Name:
T-Mobile

APN:
fast.t-mobile.com

Port:
80

MMSC:
http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc

APN type:
default,supl,mms

APN protocol:
IPv4/IPv6

APN roaming protocol:
IPv4
For the rest you leave the default. Then save and reboot your phone.

Hi everybody just wanted to give y'all an update. I did the dial code, and I also changed my apn settings to tmobile as suggested. Only once or twice did it drop to 2g speeds turning off and on the data seemed to help a bit those might be tower traffic issues though. 2g speed slowest was 0.19. 3-18 at home and 22-34 near the tower. So just wanted to say thank you all for the help and advice.

O have check bands n permissions and they are all working good I even opened bands...1.3.25.26.40. And opens successfully... Now they will only work if the defaults drops.. I knw that we are in conjunction with att for extended network. (not Roaming) so im gonna open low frequency one to see how they come out.

Well... After hrs of driving.. To keep y@ll updated... Tested other LTE bands..not good crappie signals... Band 12 for the central FL its still weak... @ least find out that we can open other bands (gsm, wcdma, lte) even internationals...explore more with the LTE bands from att we can make phone hook on those extended areas to catch some lte week but we can till connect data...
Well let keep testing and learning...
