can i use my phone as a webcam??

I have recently switched to android from windows mobile. I`m very happy with it, but i am wondering if there are any apps out there that would let me use my phone as a webcam??

One i`ve used on wm6 is called mobiola webcam, it would be great to have something similar on my new phone.

I have a great MS Mobile app for my Dash, but haven't found anything that does the same thing for my Android Behold II.

What the MS Mobile app does is use your phone camera as a true webcam and streams wirelessly over WiFi (or bluetooth or USB etc...) to your computer and can be used by any PC application as a webcam feed.

Qik et all just feed to a website, not your computer to be used as your webcam feed for Skype etc...

Yup there is another one but its kinda flaky. Its called KNOCKING LIVE BETA. It works with Droid to Droid or Droid to iPhone. They claim they will add more phones later. Once you download the app, you have to create an account. You can link your account to Facebook and I think Twitter if you want. This app will turn your phone into an instant webcam. Once you contact someone else with the app on their phone it will turn their phone into a webcam and you both will be able to see each other.

The trick is to get the person on the phone FIRST then start up your KNOCKING LIVE app. Once they are both up, continue with your conversation and you will be able to view and talk at the same time!

I have not tried it with a Droid to Droid, but I did try it with a Droid to iPhone and it worked!!

I said it was kind of flaky because I have not been able to get it to work since the first time I tried it out! I have contacted the folks at Knocking Live via their discussion forums on their website and haven't really gotten a good explanation. This IS a Beta app so hopefully they will fix whatever is wrong when the real thing comes along.

I got a similar question. I want to set up a webcam to watch the dog in the house and be able to open an app to view the webcam to check up on the dog once in a while in an easy way.

Anyone have an idea on the easiest way to go about that? I was just gonna set my laptop up on a table in the room and have the webcam going. I just need a way to see it on my phone.

I upgraded my Evo to 2.2 on Friday and I noticed that when my Evo is plugged in to my laptop sites like Shovio.com and Chatroulette will actually recognize the cameras from the Evo. It'll say "Google Camera Adapter 0" and "Google Camera Adapter 1" or just Google Camera 0, Google Camera 1. BUT it wont actually show the video. Is there a way to enable it? Is there an app? I would think there would be.

USB Webcam for Android Download – Windows

Found this while searching, would seem to work, but has to be plugged in to the PC. If you want wireless its going to have a delay, via qik or Ustream. You could use a program like Manycam to capture the stream and use that in skype, but once again it will have a delay.... and capturing it would involve you setting it up on a PC... but you could always walk away and keep broadcasting.

Best bet would be to install the above driver and try that. I'm about to give it a go.

DroidCam works pretty well. No audio support, which makes it not a great webcam replacement if you want a built in mic. The lag really depends on the signal strength, I have found. Other than that, Yahoo and Skype work well with it. GTalk, on the other hand, cannot seem to push the video through, even though in the flash settings you can preview it after setting the allow permission.

Has anyone found any other alternatives?
