So as see negative posts popping up I wanted to share my positive experience.
I woke up this morning and realized that mothers day was upon us and I haven't sent a gift yet, I look at my calender and realized that even worse it was my moms birthday as well! So she lives 5 states away and I look at her contact info in the phone to text her and I see her address with a location icon on it and I hit it. Google maps pops up and shows me her house with a star on it. Pretty cool I think but useless, I then think, type in day spa, low and behold every spa pops up around it. So now i'm thinking damn I don't know the area which one to choose. I then tap each one and see each review by locals. Real cool. Then I think well I don't want to send her to any strip malls so I press this other icon and literally see each property as if I was standing on the street in front of it. I find the few chosen ones and since I don't know the area press this other icon to find out how far in minutes they are from my moms house. The final spa is picked and I press one button and it dials it for me. Long story short my Incredible, Incredibly saved my day.
I assure you my last blackberry storm cant do that.
Just my two cents.:D

I think you should send this to VZW. They'll get a commercial up in 2 hours, lol..

LMAO.....I had the same thought when reading this story...it just screams Commercial all over:D...nice one
....I just sent my hubby the Inc...LOL...doubt he will know how he "could" use this phone to his advantage:rolleyes: ..or mine, with mothersday around the corner and him being at work 7 hrs away:(

I'll be honest with u here. I'm a storm 1 and 2 user and they wouldn't come close to that experience. Hands down

I was a storm user too and even if it got close to that I would have to pull the battery after because I would have used up all my "File Free" memory and it would have started erasing all my emails, texts and call log. I get the crack berry addiction and read the site daily but lets face it bb is flawed.

....then the lady at the spa picked up the phone, she sounded garbled, and then you dropped the call....

I kid. I kid.

Heh, i'd agree with you.........back when i was on AT&T.

My Tilt 2 however could have pulled up the information just like this, gotten the spas nearby on google maps and called the place except for one big problem.

I never got a decent signal anywhere in the NJ/PA/NYC area so i couldn't have done any of this

Luckily, those days are gone and now I have my lovely lovely HTC Incredible on Verizon. No more dropped calls or faulty data connections :D

just got back from a weekend trip 4 hours away. I used the DI for a GPS which worked awesome. On top of the GPS running, I also had Pandora kicking tunes over bluetooth in my Fusion. Whenever there was a turn it would pause Pandora. When I was on the phone with my daughter the GPS voice prompt came on to alert me of my next turn while it was still running in the background. The GPS Voice prompts were very informative and detailed. I've never had a phone with this kind of built in GPS that actually worked. My TP2 using Google maps was slow and inaccurate. I found Google's GPS version on this phone to be very accurate. Over the weekend, when my laptop battery quit, I picked up the DI to finish surfing and once again it was fast and usable. The Alarm clock on the DI got me up on time this morning for my return trip. I smile every time I look at this phone. Definitely my best purchase in a long long time.

How were you able to get birthdays to show up in the calender? Did you have to put them manually in? I have birthdays for alot of my contact profiles but none of them show up in the calender.

My birthday info is automatically taken from Facebook and put on my phone and those show up as notifications. I am not sure if it is in the calender.

I found a post with steps on to make them show up on the calender.

There is a way to automate this so that the birthdays will automatically me added as you add friends in FB. It's a little convoluted but it works. This was mentioned in another thread, but the process is spread out over several posts, here's a step by step guide.

1) Sync your FB contacts to your phone

2) Sync your phone contacts with your google account, this will put your FB contacts into your google contacts.

3) now you have your FB contacts in google contacts, birthdays included. Now we have to visit Google calendar to continue. Go to www.google.com/calendar (login to your google account if prompted.)

4) Once on the calendar website, in the upper right corner click settings

5) Once in settings, choose the calendars tab, look on the right for a link called 'Browse interesting calendars', click that

6) Click the 'More" tab.

7) At the top of the list you should see 'Contacts birthdays and events', to the right of that you will see a 'Subscribe' Link, click that.

8) on the left sidebar under 'other calendars' you should see a calendar called 'Contacts birthdays and events' if you see it, then you followed everything correctly and are ALMOST good to go.

9) Go back to the phone, open the calendars app do a manual sync, then, hit 'menu' then 'more', then 'calendars'

10 This is a list of all the calendars that can be synched with the phone, touch the checkmark next to 'Contacts birthdays and events'. Manual sync again, DONE. Birthdays will now show in the calendar!

It seems like a lot to do, but it took me about 3 minutes to set it all up. And you'll never have to do it again!
