This is absolutely ridiculous. I was thinking of upgrading to the 2015 Moto X. That will not happen if they don't upgrade the 2014 X to M. Everybody I know feels the same way. If a manufacturer cannot support a phone that is only 12 months old they do not deserve anyone's business. Shame on Motorola.

I was really hoping M would fix the wifi and bluetooth problems I've had since getting L...very unhappy about this. I don't really blame moto on this one though, I assume it's Verizons fault.

I think you are wrong making this assumption. It seems like Motorola is not upgrading any of the 2014 Moto X carrier branded phones in the U.S., which includes AT&T and T-Mobile. To upgrade carrier branded phones requires that Motorola dedicate staff and personnel who will work with the carriers to make sure that the upgrade works which each carriers network. With the 2015 Moto X Motorola made all the phones compatible with all the carriers so it looks to like Motorola wants to cut costs and not pay for the staff needed to work with carriers to upgrade the older devices since they won't have to do that in the future. While I understand that Motorola wants to cut costs, I consider this to be unfair to it's customers who bought their phones expecting that the manufacturer would support their product for more than just 11 or 12 months. You don't abandon your customers just to maximize profits. This is not good business practices and does instill confidence in me buying another Motorola phone in the future. Before this news I was considering upgrading to a new 2015 Moto X. I am no longer considering a 2015 Moto X.

Now that I'm over being mad I do get why they are doing it. I actually am glad that they are cutting ties with carriers and will go with a direct sale/any carrier model. It makes sense all around; for them and wireless customers. I just wish I wasn't first in line to take a hit for the new business model, not gonna lie about that.

I will probably get another Moto phone, they have the best radios IMO. They are well built, up 'til now anyway. They are incredibly well priced (the X's). Looking at the big picture it just would be silly for me to swear off Moto because of the recent debacle. Now, if they don't get Marshmallow out to eligible phones fast or start making crap products my tune will change for sure.

If I was in the market for a new phone I'd choose another Moto, even another '14 X Verizon branded because it's still one of the best phones I've had.
