Help [Official] OTA update thread

Coming as an OTA that applies like a system update? I thought they were going to be pushed out through the play store.

Oh, I think so, Luna--I haven't heard that they (security updates) would or could come as a Play Store push. I would think system code updates would indeed require a quiesced environment to update/patch the objects (i.e., in the same way that OTAs are applied in recovery).

Wwell I just got an update I am assuming it's the "latest (greatest? HA) security update". It's installing now. If it's M I will holla. But I doubt it. I still need to get off mah butt and install 6.0 I downloaded it and have not done a thing with it.
:(
Ya same here .. Got a notification was like oh ya!! Saw it was 23mb and knew its just a security patch..

Google doesn't roll out to everybody all at once with good reason. However, if you are on the long end of the rollout it certainly doesn't feel good. I don't think there's a discernible way to know where you are on the list or why one time you get it first and another you get it last.

^^^ +1!

Yeah, it's always been that way (anyone remember the 2010 Eris "when am I gonna get my 2.1 OTA" thread? :p)...my N5 typically gets update notifications several weeks after my son gets his.

I'm sure it all has to do with bandwidth, monitoring feedback/issues with the OTA, and other things we're not privy to, etc.

I have it on good authority that this is how they decide who get's OTA's and when ...
