Root Still cannot root zte awe after several methods

Yeah, I am running the original stock Rom that came from Sprint. The Android version says, "4.1.2", just like yours. You know, I was thinking that this might look like a good Rom. What do ya think? http://androidforums.com/threads/rom-beta-4-1-2-l-awe-v2-5-final-works-with-stock-device.860961/

I actually have a rom like that already on my SD card handy. The LAwe is what it's called. It looks like that's what you are looking at. I tried it and it was cool, had the jellybean but with kitkat features. I don't remember why I decided to switch back to original stock. I also tried something called Spirit Rom. Which is kitkat. I thought that was pretty sweet. Only bad thing that made me switch back from that is that the camera wasn't working on that rom. It's been 3 months since I had looked at it so maybe the developer fixed the bug by now. Definitely worth checking out though, kitkat is pretty cool and I liked the Spirit Rom because it was so customizable. Like everything was in your control. It was pretty sweet. Oh another thing I didn't like about it though was that my notification light did not work. It did not light up if my screen was on. I prefer my light to work even if my screen is on because I could be playing a game and somebody texts me. Well I wouldn't know unless I saw the notification light (I usually have my phone on silent due to college and work). I downloaded an app to fix that though. Anyway yeah there's tons of roms to play with. I also tried Dirty Unicorns version of Lollipop. This was 5 or 6 months ago and it was new and had many bugs so I decided to switch back once more but I liked what I saw so far. Like the Spirit rom, the Dirty Unicorn rom possibly has had the bugs fixed. I currently have 5 different roms stored on my SD that I frequently jump back and forth between just for fun haha.

This technique is BOSS, Kelly Draves, and all yallz giving homegirl these tips - I'd spent weeks and tried everything to root the AWE (even as native linux-user this is a serious pain in the ass). The Baseband version (B05) won't 'easily' allow superuser access, but installing the B01, Kingo, and AWAY we go! This is a pretty bad-ass little fone, and I've had mine for over a year now; it's unreal how much space was freed up from after installing Moonshine (Mad props, Edo - this rom is so much better than stock; frigging Android should have you on their payroll, for real homie - yo, whatever happened to Ginger, by the way?). I am still getting my bearings on clockworkmod, and how to switch between custom ROMS (and for this fone, there aren't many) without too much of a headache - backups, restoration, etc. You guys here are awesome and very helpful, and I'm glad I found this community, as I had no idea the potential of this (previously thought POS) little fone. xox

Ok I'm going to try to use this update.zip method so I can root my awe which is also b07. However, there is one part of the instructions that I'm confused about. Maybe someone can clarify a bit more. Also, I'm hoping that the update.zip that is on that page is still the b04 version.

c) Take out UIM card, and then check whether the folder name of update.zip in SD card is
correct; during upgrading, all data of Download file in the directory of SD card will be erased,
therefore, we recommend you to copy
the update package to update files of update.zip with an
empty SD card before starting upgrade. If SD card has data, you can back up the files of Download
directory to computer so that the data won’t be lost.

What is the uim card, and where is it? The rest of this is a bit confusing too. Please help... :/

try the lollipop Roms there great

Sorry for a late reply but I downloaded Dirty Unicorn's version of Lollipop and it still had quite a few bugs. I am back on here to scout out Cyanogen's version to see if it is any better. I don't even know if the version I currently have downloaded ready to load has been improved on since I first downloaded it many months ago. I'll look into it. Currently I am back on stock rom for this phone. The issue with anything besides stock is that the other roms restrain you from moving apps to sd card which is truly a necessity for this phone because of the phone's tiny internal storage. You have to move apps to card if you want any apps at all it seems, haha. That's my issue with installing kitkat or higher...lack of mobility to the apps

I have heard of Moonshine but what is it? And yeah I like this phone, too. This is my second Awe, the first one I had for nearly 2 years before one day it randomly would not turn on. Thing just died. But I loved the phone too much and got another Awe. Now I am sorta regretting it, I am fed up with the tiny internal storage this phone has but everything else is cute I love it. But yeah what exactly is Moonshine is it a version of kitkat 4.4.4 or...?

If u put on exposed on lollipop and kk there are modules that allow u to move to ext SD and internal SD and ur able to have all downloads to ext SD card

woah.... what's this? Tell me more. I was just reading in the new M thread about this exposed thing and heard a lot of crap about it but also some good. I do not even know what it is. Is it an app from the store or something or a zip or what? What is it and what is its purpose

I put it on my ext SD card then flash then once done u see it in ur apps list click it then u see down loads scroll through them u will see the extsd file good luck make back up before u do any thing

Okay so move it over from computer to SD card. Wait, move what. The xposed installer itself? Or the exposed version for kitkat
