Root [TOOL] LG Laf Recovery MultiTool v1.2

Hi

I have an LG L65 and getting the well-known error (picture). I've tried the LG Flash Tool, but I get the error message "unknown phone mode" after loading the .tot and the other file. I've tried factory reset - it didn't help anything. I've tried the LG Laf Recovery Multitool v. 1.2, but it can't detect my device though it's connected (I think because it's in this strange mode that couldn't be recognized by the other tools neither). But the phone doesn't boot, I can't get downloading mode - nothing. Could you help me? What to do that the softwares recognize this strange mode of the device?

Well, like it's been said a million times, don't do L70 stuff on the L65. People should have known this by now.

i would really love to have the lg stock room back, the lack of internal memory (im using the link2sd and the "move to sd"option from the cm12, but still i have issues with the space on the internal.

i have the same issue. when i :
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/laf

answer from adb:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/laf
dd: /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/laf: No space left on device
45057+0 records in
45056+0 records out
23068672 bytes transferred in 3.321 secs (6946302 bytes/sec)
1|root@w5ds:/ #

aboout 520mb free of 1.5gb (cyanogenmod 12.1 lg l70 d325).
i have to zero the laf partition to replace the cwm for twrp?

Hello. Yes! LAF partition is where download mode is. I have CWM installed on LAF recovery partition myself and TWRP installed in recovery mode, so I have both and can use either. Only use TWRP now though. It's better for L70. :)

Yes I use TWRP as well. Best recovery out there:).
By the way do you know what each one of the below partitions contain as well ?

persist.bin
rpm.bin
sbl1.bin
tz.bin

Guys, i made a fkin big mistake. I followed this guide (http://androidforums.com/threads/unlock-lg-l70-bootloader-unlock.862585/) on my lg l40 :(. Now, i can only boot in fastboot. I cant find a laf.img for my l40 and i dont have the backup. Every time i try to install twrp for l40 (via fastboot flash recovery xx.img) in my phone. I get a crash (purple screen). Is there a fix or should i dump that phone? :D

@sammyz Hey man, its been a while! Glad to see you're still working on this. I've long dropped this device, although I fondly remember it as my first LG device. My sister still uses it, and the mods you've all came up with. :)

Is there any way you can add support for the D631/VS880 LG G Vista? I've got the VS880, but to help out the D631 users, I've purchased their TOT/DLL file and have access to their partitions. The only TOT they've got is for 4.4.2, however the VS880 has a KDZ for several 4.4.2 versions and a 5.1.1. What I'd like is for the ability to zero out the laf partition on the VS880 and D631 and then the ability to restore it. I can get you our custom recovery, all versions of the VS880 laf partition, and the only available D631 laf partition. It would help us out quite a bit, as we have users attempting to restore a TOT with custom recoveries and no knowledge of how to restore download mode. I kind of want to stop it now, before it becomes nasty. Several users are now stuck in QHSUSB_BULK mode because there's no "user friendly" way to restore download mode. Also, being able to easily restore download mode will really help the D631 users get back to full stock so they can finally accept OTA updates. (They can't use a KDZ like the VS880 users can.)

Whatever you need, feel free to ask. I've worked with you in the past on several devices and hope to do it again.

Hi I'm new on the forum and have the next problem:I have lg l70 d325 dual, first I root it then I went to install cyanogenmod 12.1.Obviously I didn't follow tutorial and then I get purple screen and no download no recovery mode,I fixed that in linux by flashing aboot.img but I did it with wrong aboot which was for ms323.Now I have cyanogenmod but touch screen doesn't work so I can't set up the phone. The next problem is when I try to install original aboot.img with adb the phone asks me to confirm usb debbugging but I can't confirm since the touchscreen isn't working. Please help me what to do?Or if somebody knows how to enable usb debbugging from pc or any other method how to fix this?

Day 4 of reading this thread and staring at the hideous purple screen on my phone (phone withdrawal symptons are increasing).

Switching on my phone gives me this screen, holding the power button (or power + lower volume) makes it restart and returns me to this screen. I remove the battery to switch my phone off.

ms7s_2.jpg

As instructed in OP I downloaded the downloads. Didn't install the driver because this is how it opens (not gonna install what I can't read)
9h37khi.png

Anyways, I launch run.bat and don't understand the instructions.

"Make sure your device appears before continuing"
Uhm ... where should it appear? In cmd box? As an external drive in my windows explorer?

"If it does not make sure USB debugging is enabled. To enable USB debugging, unplug USB, go to Settings -> General -> ..."
Again ... where do I need to go find these settings you speak of? My phone gives me a purple screen and nothing else to work with, the cmd box settings (rightclicking title bar) allow me to change font, and my PC probably has dozens of tabs labelled "settings".

Then when I start reading this thread you're all talking about fast modes and download boots as if activating these things is material covered in kintergarden.

All of this to show that I'm really, really, really, trying to figure it out. I'm not an internet newbie who just assumes posting a question will fix everything and who is unaware of the search function in forums.

That being said, I'm so done trying to figure it out. I've got no energy left and any further attempt will either end with me crying or smashing my phone against the wall.

Last week my phone was acting sluggish (I could count 2 mississippi before the chrome app opened) so I decided to restart it (I usually leave my phone on and recharge daily, must've been a month at least since last the battery died)

Ever since, switching the phone on lands me on that purple screen.

TL;DR: I tried and I tried but I fail to understand the instructions on this site. Can somebody, pretty please, ELI5 me?

EDIT: 1 day later...

I figured out which key combo brings me to factory data reset. Erasing all user data and restoring default settings DOES NOT fix the problem.

I really need help here... *sobbing inside*

Holy, you're going in so much different directions, can you access Download/Fastboot Mode (if you have unlocked bootloader) while phone turned off hold Power UP then connect USB to the computer (USB should already be plugged into PC all you need to do is connect)

Yes, at one point during this era of despair I managed to stumble into download mode.

I don't know about this unlocking bootloader. If I unlocked it, it was done by accident/unknowingly and I have no idea how to tell whether it is unlocked or not.

I just want to get my phone to the way it was when I got it out of the box (restoring stock firmware it's called, I believe?)

Also (just in case this is important) I removed my simcard which is now in my trusty nokia 6600

EDIT: While googling for the key combo to download mode (since I had stumbled on it by accident the last time) I found this and this. I installed the v3.11 driver, used the power&volume+ combo to get into download mode and installed the D320 (International L70) firmware (the link that is mentioned in those instructions was dead but I had gotten a kdz from somewhere else in the past week).

Currently charging my phone, logging into google account and restoring normality in my life.

Thanks for everything people :)
