DISCLAIMER: I hereby am not responsible for any damage you cause to your device or any bricks/bootloops that are caused by flashing this ROM to your device. Flashing was your choice, not mine, so any radiation leaks caused by flashing this ROM are hereby your responsibility.

INFO: This is SlimLP for LG Volt (x5). To install this, first:

1.) Download the ROM zip and (optionally) the GAPPS zip and move them to your device via USB, FTP, ADB, whatever.

2.) Boot into recovery (if you don’t have one, get TWRP from here). Make a backup of your current setup (just in case), and wipe.

3.) Install SlimLP and GAPPS, and reboot.

4.) Follow the instructions here for APN fixes

5.) Enjoy! Screenshots attached to the post

This ROM was compiled on an HP 15-142dx with 4GB of RAM and an AMD A6 processor, running on Ubuntu 14.04.

Changelog/Known Issues:
10/25/2015
--More recent sources
--Camera working (at least, working as well as the other Lollipop ROMs)
--Home button remapped in keylayout configuration
--Audio and phone calls work now

09/22/2015
--Initial Release
--The camera isn't working yet (forgot to swap the kernel files). It should be semi-working in the next build
--Home button not working (looking into it). For now, Go to Settings >> Navigation >> Navigation bar >> Enable navigation bar to "On"
--Anything else? Lemme know :)

  • @Bad_MOFO_33 for his device, vendor, and kernel trees
  • @ezio84 over at XDA for reminding me that SlimLP doesn’t have the ability to soft reboot by default, and thus I don’t need that string in my overlays.

So far all I have noticed is home button is broken, and I cannot find an advanced reboot option.
But I like it nice and slim
Thanks for the work
Thanks! Glad you like it :) I'm working on the homework button, I tried something and I'm gonna run the build again to see how it turns out. And yeah, I had a hard time finding the advanced reboot option, I think it may have been in "Developer Options." It only enables rebooting to recovery, as Slim-LP doesn't have a soft reboot option coded into it :/ If I'm up to it, I may try to add it in myself.

I have been wanting to try this to for awhile but haven't until you fixed some bugs (its just a a thing I have about ROMs; don't use initial releases of ROMs anymore. I wait till a following update.) I would very much so like to test this out now when its uploaded. Thanks for the work you put in. After I test this out, ill post what's good and whats having a problem for everyone that's thinking about trying this ROM out.

OP updated with the new build. I apologize to everyone, I didn't realize it's been over a month since the first build.

Latest build has the camera working again (still got the green tint though, no one's found a way around that yet), and things don't freeze up now when the volume is adjusted. Not sure if anyone else was experiencing problems with phone calls, but that's fixed now. If there are any other issues, try to capture a log and let me know. Enjoy! :)

I got that but I mean like performance wise how does it perform BC idc about camera tint issues I just don't like when my phone stalls with nothing running... Bad_Mofo33's ROMs are great but I've always preferred slim because it's usually pretty smooth
Well, I think it runs pretty smooth. I've been using it as my daily driver and have had pretty much zero freeze ups. As long as you don't install resource intensive apps (Facebook, Messenger, Chrome, etc.) or install apps like Recently, Swapper, and Greenify to keep them under control, any ROM works pretty good. But yeah this ROM runs pretty smooth.

No problem, I'm glad you're enjoying it! And if you really want to show some love, thank Bad_MOFO_33. I basically took his trees and plugged 'em into SlimLP's source code, and here we are. He already did the hard part by creating the device and vendor trees.

Is there a good amount of customization features like the BlissPop rom or at least CandyRom or is it bare bones like the CM12.1 rom?
It's bare bones in the sense that it's a smaller file-system size than CyanogenMod or BlissPop and has less features (like no theme engine or small stuff like changing clock and statusbar icon colors), but there's still enough settings to tweak for yourself, such as the navigation bar or pie controls. @mjhealy1978 I'm glad things are running great for you :)

For anyone who's wondering, the latest Xposed framework (version 75) works very well.

I planned on installing gravitybox either way you said. I always install it :3 and thanks for letting me know! Also, no theme engine?? That is a small little bummer but I don't mind that much. I use closed version 74 cause its been working fairly good but didn't know version 75 is out. Haven't checked out on it. Thanks for telling. Can't wait to get a laptop/computer so I can starting working on roms again. I hope I get cellular data and connection on this rom like CandyRom though. I have only gotten data with my textnow lg volt on CandyRom. Non of the others.

So far LTE has stuck better than CyanogenMod but it still has an issue every now and then (for me, at least). And yeah, no theme engine bit I've noticed that themes kinda slow things down a bit.
