Root My GOOD battery life with BB v1

There are so many posts about the bad battery life, I thought I'd share a screen shot I took this morning.
I do use Juice Defender but I don't think that it makes a huge difference. The kernal is stock.
28 1/2 hours before I opened a movie and GPS to kill the battery off.

Hey little Bro, good post, I decided to leave mine unplugged overnight as well to see what happened. I am just over 24 hours and still at 20% remaining. Made 5-6 calls yesterday played probably 20-30 minutes of Solitaire and about the same of Asphalt, you know I run a ton of widgets, and did a little surfing and of course texting and checking emails. Running the new cyan/pete hybrid AKA UD New Era, lol and the P3droid 1ghz kernal. Set cpu slowly ramps down my overclock according to battery remaining, 1ghz till 70% 900mhz till 50% 800mhz till 30% and then 700mhz till done. I think that's pretty damn good considering the amount of widgets I always have running and the oc speeds I run.

***Edit***
After posting this my battery just dropped to 15%.

wow. well ive been one of those people that have been questioning why my battery life has been so bad, or less than phenomenal. but for some reason, everything just improved! yesterday, i let my battery drain all the way to zero, until it shut off by itself, not intentionally, but just because i wasnt home for a long time the whole day. so anyway, i charged it up over night, and today i looked at my battery life and it has been AMAZING. im at 80%, and it says "17 h 12 m 52 s since unplugged". this is crazy haha. so maybe those people who have bad battery life, maybe drain your battery once to recalibrate or something? cus this battery life is freakin amazing.

Wtf 17 hours 80%....? Damn lol I burn like 10% per 2-3 hours on standby which I consider good. But 17, you sure that number is right? lol.

yea man, thats why im like SUPER SURPRISED. like when i saw it, i was like i HAVE TO POST THIS ON THE FORUM. haha. i would take some pictures, but im going somewhere right now. if this battery life continues for a couple days, ill post some pictures. but i wouldnt like lie about this stuff, it would be kinda stupid to boast about battery life..on my phone.. haha. so yeah, i dont know whats up, but its really at 17 hrs at 80% right now.

At 600 you should be getting great battery life.

At 1.2 I have had a best of 18 hours down to 15%. That was with lighter useage.
I was having issues before, but I think it was my FB app updating every hour - I forgot to set it to 24 hours. I can get a solid 12 hours with medium useage at 1.2.

Edit - I too am using Juice Defender 2.1x and I really do think it helps - to each their own.

Here is my picture of my awesome battery life. Had it off the charger for almost two days...

I was just down to yellow bars with this time, and it is 1 day 14 hours, and 55 minutes. 38 hours! I don't know what happened but i was getting about 15 hours with my phone just days before. i dont know what increased the battery life, but like i said before, i did a drain.

From my experiences overclocking with set cpu has a biggggg impact on battery life, I have been leaving mine at 600MHz lately and getting much better battery life. Obviously overclocking reduces battery life but I would try running at a stock frequency and see how that works for you.

Speaking from personal experience, stock voltage kernels, such as the stock one of course or even bekit stock voltage 600MHz gives me far superior battery life on BB V1.0 vs. running any low voltage kernel regardless of who created it. So if you can live without the overclocking, which is really overrated for the performance gained, then your best option for maximizing your battery is a stock voltage kernel. The stock voltage kernel is better for not just your battery, but also for the CPU as well by allowing it to running cooler.

My guess for that kind of battery life is that you are running a stock kernel or at least stock voltage and you barely even take your phone out of sleep mode to do anything with it, right.

I've had very inconsistent battery life running Bugless Beast v1.0 with the bekit 1ghz kernel.

Some days after 2 hours of idle, I'm down to 50%, other days (like yesterday) after 13 hours of idle, 30 minutes of talk via bluetooth headset, few minutes of facebook, 40 to 50 emails coming through (both gmail and work activesync mail), after all this, it still had 80% battery life left.

So it has been completely unpredictable/random.

On one of the earlier bugless beast releases with an 800mhz lv kernel, I was able to get over 2 days on standby with just a few emails coming through and a few quick phone calls. (I could leave friday evening for a weekend trip, come back sunday night and still have 10 to 20% left).

Today, after 6 hours of idle, I'm down to 70%. didn't do anything since unplugging it from the charger this morning. (I work from home, so all these test were done from the same location).

I get great signal at home, usually always 4 bars and signal strength shows usually upper -70's to lower -80's db.

I always carry an extra charger with me now, due to this extremely inconsistent battery life.
