Not all apps are created equal. There are rouge apps out there that can cause issues with your phone. I would try uninstalling some of the apps (especially the ones you don't trust) to see if it will resolve your issue.
If you are using your phone very heavily then it is quite possible that the phone is shutting down some of your apps. Android does this from time to time when it needs to free up memory for other apps that you are currently using more frequently.
If the app that has been shut down does not handle the shut down event properly then it could pop up an error the next time you start it up.
i have seen maybe 2 force closes in the entire week i have had the phone, and i have used it pretty heavily. my rooted Droid i would get them pretty often, especially when running Helix Launcher.
The only app that has forced closed on me is Astro File Manager. Could not get out of that vicious loop so had to pull the battery out of my phone. Not sure if it was a random thing or not. I may end up uninstalling it.
This is ridiculous, I have tried deleting task manager, and let google handle everything, but that doesnt work, and If I have a task manager installed it doesn't work either.
What is wrong with android and this phone?
My MMS app keeps force closing, settings are randomly changing without my consent..
I just starting having this same thing. The phone has been working fine and earlier tonight it started momentary freezing. So I restarted it and from then on including several battery pulls and *288 reprogramming it seems that every time it starts now....most everything opens a pop up that it needs to force close. Then nothing works. This just repeats everytime I restart now. VERY UPSETTING
There are a few free backup apps on the Market and AppBrain. Search is your friend. I am using a paid backup app call My Backup Pro. Minor issue is that you may have to go back and setup your personal preferences for certain apps (notification sounds, contact photos, etc.).Works well enough for me. Backs up all my apps and data.
The Incredible/Verizon also has a phone contact backup app already on the phone which also works well in backing up your contacts.
Sometimes a factory reset is the way to go. If not for you, see what a local Verizon store can do for you. Good luck.
