Bye Bye Hero...

Well I got so frustrated last night with my phone and it's issues that I threw it on the ground as hard as I could. It dented up the whole bottom where the charging port is. It's all out of shape. The mother board inside is all crinkled up like newspaper and the battery cracked. The home screen key are busted off too along with the send key. The amazing thing is the of all things the screen didn't crack. I had to break it apart to get my SD card out that's how bound up it is.

I've never thrown a phone. Let alone even lost one. It just pressed the right button last night to trigger my response. I have insurance but Im not gonna waste 100 bucks on my deductible when I plan on buying the Evo as soon as it comes out. So for now...Im gonna rock the old samsung a900 flip phone until the Evo is released...unless it's gonna be another couple months then I might claim insurance on it.

The longer I had this phone the more and more frustrated I got with it. The lag, freezing, battery life etc. Not to mention not having 2.1 yet etc etc.

I immediately regretted my decision though. It was a stupid thing to do. I should of just sold it for 150 bucks or something. Oh well can't do anything about it now. Hopefully no one else gets as frustrated as I did. Just thought I'd share. I'll see if I can get pics of to show you the damage.

Bye bye Hero...I dont think Im going to miss you much.

Sorry to hear about your, ahhh..."accident"! There have been times in my life when I have been as frustrated with something as you, so I can certainly understand the feeling! It has been a very long time, however. Anyway, thanks for sharing.

Thought... If you are going to get the EVO, and have insurance on the Hero, why not get it replaced for the $100, and use it till the EVO comes out...you should still be able to sell it for a profit. Just thought.

I still don't know how there can be so many dramaticly different experiences with the Hero. The only thing I have experienced, is some lag, but clearing cache and keeping the text message threads to a reasonable size seem to keep it at bay. Not that we should have to do such housekeeping to keep it working smoothly.

i too did this same thing, not because i was mad at the phone, the phone just happened to be in my hand when my girlfriend sent me over the edge (i've done a lot of soul searching since then and we're working things out, thanks)...and might i recommend something like say...the body glove case? or maybe that other one? i personally have the body glove case, and my phone survived with but a couple of minor dings after the case split apart and the phone took a hop skip and a jump

To be honest what really happened is my girlfriend works at Hooters and some guy grabbed her inapproiprately while I was there. She told me because her manager wouldnt do anything. Basically he told her to deal with it. So she did by telling me and I took matters into my own hands. Well when I did her Manager kicked me out for almost starting a fight.

I was irate by then. Not to mention I had quite a bit to drink that evening as well. I've gotten frustrated with my phone but not to the point of smashing it all to hell. It just happened to be in my hand when I grabbed it off the table on my way out. I was mad at it earlier in the day because of the lag but not that mad.

Basically I did myself a favor though because I was growing very unhappy with my phone. Im not going to get another one because I dont want one. I'll go old school first.

So, essentially, your girlfriend is on the cusp of becoming a stripper and your anger over some drunk guy grabbing her anatomy caused you to destroy your phone. I'd say you have 99 problems, but a bitch ain't one, but it wouldn't be true.

Call the cops next time and then she should call Corporate offices and the Manager would probably be fired. Any unwanted, uninitiated touching is assault, let alone GRABBING or touching with FORCE. Hmmmm... actually he could be culpable in a civil matter seeing as the manager has the ability to control patrons. The customer should have been asked to leave immediately and any failure to control the situation would leave the manager culpable for further developments by ignoring the event.

Nah... did so because you made him look like the little man he is.

I think you're mixing some of your frustrations and targeting your poor Hero that had nothing to do with the situation, lmao. Channeling that energy can be useful, or not, it all depends. Not being an analyst (psycho) , but certainly someone with open eyes... I think it might do you good to stay away from your GF's place of employment, or do you think you are to be her personal bodyguard? Do you know anything about personal protection?

If you don't have the ability to really accept that she's being gawked at and potentially groped nightly, then either talk to her about your feelings and her choice of employment, or get a new GF because you will just find nothing but trouble and potentially some serious legal issues and/or potential bodily injury.

Lol, so anyway... just defending the poor Hero that got the brunt of the situation that had nothing to do with your frustrations and offering my $.02... ;)

Yeah that's it. Working for Hooters is nothing like being a stripper d-bag! I wish you ballsy people who sit behind your computer screen and type shit like this had the balls to do it to someones face. In all honesty I would of punched you in the mouth if you said this to my face. Then you'd of woke up staring at the sky.

Then again you're probably just jealous that my girl is attractive enough to work at Hooters and also compete in the Swimsuit competitions as well. You're either stuck with (A.)an ugly chick (B)a blow up doll or (C)a pocket *****. Hence your jealousy.

Im not her bodyguard at all. She wanted me to come in for a while because I hadnt got to see her all week because of my job and her job and school. I have no problems with people looking and in all honesty if she hadn't of said anything then I would of never known. The simple lack of respect is what pissed me off. You don't just grab a girls ass. No matter where you're at. You can't even touch strippers at the Strip Club unless they are ok with it. She's worked there for over 3 years now and not once has something like that happened to her. It shook her up she said. Also I have no problem with her working there. She makes good money in tips and it works well with her Pre Med schedule at school.

I work for the Sprint insurance carrier and I am going to make a record of your incident. :D

Good for you. Even if I wanted to claim it on insurance I can. I can claim it over pretty much anything as long as I pay my deductible. But dont fear I'm not gonna waste the money in doing so. I'll just buy the Evo with my upgrade for 199.99 on June 4th and call it good.
