Help Rearrange app drawer/long press

I have two questions that are kind of related and I don't want to make two posts, but I will if I have to.

I'm on an LG G3.

Right now my app drawer is set to custom, which means slightly arranged randomly, slightly arranged by date from what I can tell (i.e., some apps I installed last month are grouped together on one page, and apps I installed this month are on a different page). The other options are arrange by name and date, both of which are unhelpful. Is there a way to rearrange the apps in the app drawer without using a launcher program?

[Edit: this part has been answered] My second question is there a way to change the long press home button apps? Right now it's the Google app, which I never use, but is there a way to disable that or alternatively change it so different apps are selectable with long press?

Long press home button can't be changed as far as I know, unless you have an app that can access that. So far the only ones I've seen are S Voice and Google.

As for rearrange, rearrange to what? Custom already allows you to rearrange it to whatever order you want.

Thanks for answering my second question!

By rearrange, I mean move apps around. With it set to custom right now the first page of the app drawer is all the bloatware apps, and I want to rearrange it so that I can put the settings or calendar app on the second page, for example. And it won't let me do that. I've tried everything I can think of to rearrange the apps in the drawer but the most I can do is put apps on the home screen from the drawer.

Nova Prime is "Best of Class"..... and is the Most Highly recommended on this forum...
You will see Nova come up time and again, over and over.... and yes, there are a lot of 'good launchers', but each has its' own nuances..... but Nova Prime just can't be beat for ease of use, and lots of Customization capabilities.... like the app drawer.

It will give you Folders..... I put all of the Internet icons in one Folder "INTERNET',
all of my tools apps, "TOOLS"
all of the Google related stuff "GOOGLE"
all of my GPS related apps? "GPS"

and you can put the Folder names in ALL CAPS...
and you can change the size of the Folder Name Fonts

that way, you simply don't need the Apps Drawer period.... what you want is always at your finger tips... you will never see Bloatware in one of your Folders....

There is NO valid reason for avoiding the use of a Launcher, any of them. They give you special effects that simply are NOT available from the Stock Crap....

and, you can switch Launchers willy nilly with a Launcher Switcher app.

What phone do you have? On a Samsung, it's supposed to be open app drawer>menu button>edit>drag the app to new page

I should add I do have the app drawer set to custom and still can't rearrange apps. Having it set to custom only arranges apps by date, and it clusters them to pages. Like, I have one page with three apps on it that I installed in November, followed by a page toally full of apps I installed in December.

Hi, on my HTC M9 (stock), when I've selected 'Custom' there is an additional option on the three dot menu button top right 'Rearrange apps' which allows creation of folders eg. 'Navigation', in the app drawer as well as simply rearranging the app position from page to page.

Is that option not there on your LG?

Unfortunately, I don't have that option. I have these settings:

View apps by is the option to arrange them (pic follows); the next three are self-explanatory, I think; Home screen settings adjusts just the home screen. If I go into View apps by, I get these:

As you can see, I have it set to Custom. If I press an option, it switches to that setting and takes me back to the drawer while adjusting for any changes, and I'm unable to do anything further once I select an arrangement. If I press and hold an app icon as if to move it, I'm automatically taken to the home screen and my only options are place the app somewhere on the home screen, cancel the movement, or check the app's information (I used my phone's Help app and hovered over the weather/time widget to demonstrate):

There's no way for me to go back into the app drawer once I have an app on press/hold, so I can't just go back in and drop the app where I want it to be within the drawer. I've tried the Edit/uninstall apps option, but that just takes me to the app management section of the phone's settings.
