Root Zv7 Update?

So from what I'm reading on your link... I follow the instructions, flash Zv5, then take the update, THEN I can root in the same manner that I did to begin with? I'm not trying to be redundant, I just want to be sure about the process as I cannot simply but a new phone if I mess it up :)

Your attempting to mod the kernel and apply the systemless root?
I'm interested and may be of some use. I have a Linux system with ADB ready....

i was trying to find a different kind of loop hole (like i did with 5.1.1 but alas to no avail) system less root might be our only hope

I was able to push files to the device and chmod them with adb. I tried the LG root method for 5.1 and it got stuck running the .sh script (looking to unzip su in system I believe).

There is the OEM Unlock option in Dev Options thats suposed to unlock the bootloader.

We'd need the source of the kernel to recompile it with our tweaks for root, right?
