Help How can I scroll up to read the history?

When I reply a sms, if I have typed a long reply, I will not be able to scroll up to see the conversation history while typing. I can only see the history after I sent the reply. (See the second pic)

Sometimes during the reply I need to see the conversation history because the other party asked a few questions and I need to refer to it when replying.

How can I scroll up to read the history?

Using Samsung S4 default sms app. Thanks

Press back once. The keyboard will be removed from screen then you can see the history.

But if it is a super long message, it will not work as the message will occupy the whole screen, any solution for this?

Yea I know what you mean, some stock messaging apps do that unfortunately, it annoys me too. I usually use WhatsApp though and that you can scroll with the keyboard still open.
You can try different sms apps in play store, I know at least one I have used in the past let the keyboard stay open while texting but can't think which off the top of my head sorry.
