My T-Mobile plans! (post here)

Everyone, could you please post if your data/text bundles online have changed to the G1 plan yet?

My t zones access through port 8080 seemed to stop working on my moto A1200 some time Monday. My G1 worked right away on EDGE yesterday. We have no 3G here yet.

I went from a Sidekick 2008 and popped in my SIM. Everything worked from the getgo. 3G/Edge, everything.

Been with T-Mobile for more than 10 months and (better) nearing the end of your contract? You have some leverage. Call customer care and ask for the 1000min Nights/Weekends plan for $39.99. If they tell you it's not available just tell them you're just going to have to return your phone and switch to another carrier because X online dealer has Y phone for Z price. They'll warm transfer you to Customer Loyalty, act REALLY nice because it's not policy but if you're nice we'll usually give you a break and let you in on the grandfathered rate plan for a 1yr contract and it's $10 less than the current variety.

Other things to ask for:
$9.99 Family Time Unlimited Texting
"Preferred" Rate Plans
Mention you have more friends on AT&T and so Mobile 2 Mobile is worthless and see if they have any way of making some of your calls to AT&T free. (We had a free MyFaves feature that could be added to accounts but we're not always supposed to give it out even in Loyalty.

Then go the Unlimited Texting and Internet
**Also go the 6.99 a month insurance**
Total will be a month = 89.72

since 2003 and i've gotten great plans for some time now. I got my G1 last Monday and as soon as I inserted the sim it was on the google network, up and running! i've always insured my phones and I encourage anyone who hasn't done it to do it.

i called and got the plan activated apparently the lady at the t-mobile store never added it on when i bought the phone >.> but it's all good now =)

Honestly, T tmobile has always seemed to go out of their way to keep us and we have been with them for like 6 or more years. Customer service has always been great and they gave us an unadvertised plan for years that just worked for us.

We got killed on a plan we were on and really went over our minutes big time and they gave us fab 5 for free, gave us a discount that was generous since they realised that we screwed up and it was not typical for us and got the family texting package etc. It saved us over like $30.00/month. We have 4 on our package.

Just giving credit were it is due.

I have had a $19.99 limited minutes plan with Unlimited T-Zones (for $4.99) for like 6 or 8 years now, and worked great on my Dash, and just upgraded to the Behold II for free and its working fine. Only caveat is that the built in browser can't access the web, but Opera has no problem doing it and its a better browser anyway. All the apps seem to work fine. You can't get the t-zones plan anymore but they grandfathered it in, so I am lucky.

My plan is a family plan for two phones but the breakdown is this for me:

2 Nexus Ones
750 talk time
Unlimited text/web

we rarely even get close to the 750 minutes because with how work is we usually only call t-mobile to t-mobile and talk after nights/weekends anyways.

Besides most people text/email anymore so that cuts down on minutes alot.

We pay 109.99 for the package which isn't too bad at all.

We've got two N1s, so we've got a family plan.

FamilyTime 700
$4.99 x2 for 400 texts each
$9.99 x2 (Mobile Web for phones) for unlimited data each

= roughly $90/month

i've been with Tmo since 2002 or 2003, have been contract free for at least 5 years, and am on what they call their "loyalty plan" - two lines, no text, e unlimited talk, $88 plus unlimited data plan for one line (MT3G) $25,

everytime i talk to a tmo csr, they remind me if i'll go on contract, they 'll cut my rates by $10 but not worth it to me to be tied to a two yr contract

if the HTC Desire comes or the samsung galaxy S or A come to tmo, i'd like to take advantage of the "contract" price

You know, T-Mobile, if anything, is known really well for their customer service and willingness to go outside the mold and do things their way. It is because of T-Mobile that we have seen rates for unlimited calling plans fall, price of adding lines fall and most of all, more options at what plans we can choose from.

I know they are not perfect, but I have no issues with them.

Now, here is my situation.

I got my T-Mobile plan back in June of 2009. Signed up for a 2 year contract which puts me out to June of 2011. I have been on their 600 Min/mo plan with MyFaves. Thanks to MyFaves, I don't eat into my minutes too much, but I am using my phone more and more for business than not, so I am getting close to using my minutes up (thankfully most people I talk too regularly are T-Mobile employees, so Mobile-2-Mobile kicks in), but those on other carriers (like my family) eat into my minutes.

Anyway, I wanted to go to an Unlimited Plan with Voice, Text and Data and found that it was cheaper than my 600 Mon/Mo plan!!

So the plan I ended up with is this one:

Even More Plus Unlimited Talk + Text + Web

Now, even though this is a non-contract plan, and I am still under contract, they allowed me to change to this plan, at the non-contract rate, but told me that I have to finish my contract term before I can cancel (or get hit with the ETF), then after that, I can stay on the non-contract plan and just pay month to month without being forced to re-new.

Drawback, I don't get a subsidized phone at the end of my contract term if I stay on this plan, unless I change my plan to a contracted plan (which is more per month).

Option: Use their EIP service to buy a new device, spread the payments for that device over 20 months with no interest or fees.

All in all, very nice and something that is worth looking into if you are paying more than $79.99/mo for your voice/text/data plan.
