Help Completely bricked my HTC One M8

Hi there,

My friend gave me his HTC One M8 that was on ViperROM and SuperSU rooted. A long story cut short, I confused the 'system' folder with the 'data' folder and accidentally, through TWRP, wiped the system partion leaving me with no working phone.

Please, please can someone advise me on how to return to having a working phone? I can't even "fastboot oem getvar all" because it tells me "(bootloader) [ERR] Command error !!!".

The stats on the bootloader are:

*** RELOCKED ***
M8_UL PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-3.19.0.0000
RADIO-1.22.21331147A1.29G
OpenDSP-v46.2.2-00564-M8974_FO.0811
OS-
eMMC-boot 2048MB

I really hope someone will be able to help me! This is both my work and personal phone so I feel properly out of the loop!

Hope to get a response from you soon,

Alex

I'm not sure why the above post directs you to a Sprint thread. Some questions first:

What else happened to relock the bootloader?

Can you still access TWRP?

The fastboot command you need is:

fastboot getvar all

Can you run that from fastboot and lost the results here, but scrub out your IMEI number and serial number before you do.

Don't panic, this is probably easy to fix although it might take a day or two. We just need to confirm what your CID number is (I've a feeling it's a WWE one which will be good).

Yes, I think that is what causes this issue. I had tried to run an RUU before and it did not work, so I took it to a shop and they fixed it. But I tried to install a new kernel and there must have been compatibility issues, hence boot loop. If the shop was able to fix it, I should be able to as well, I just need to learn how. I have certainly learned my lesson about flashing stuff. If I manage to fix my phone this time, I'm staying stock from now on.
