So the last few days my Note 4 hasn't even survived a shift at work is highly unusual, yesterday it suddenly switched itself off twice due to battery drain. I've never had that happen. Ever. I've not long since got 5.1.1 so thought maybe the OTA update had done something so went through a factory reset. Today I thought everything was okay until my phone dropped from 30% to 13%. From the time it took me to walk up a flight of stairs it had dropped to 0%. I got my charge plugged in possibly moments before it turned off. So i turned it off and let it charge while off. I noticed the charge jumped from 85% to 100% charged in mere seconds.

Barring 5.1.1 nothing has changed at all. Is it time for a new battery..? It doesn't appear hot or swollen but these sudden changes in battery are very odd.

I've book marked samsung uk and get a new Note 4 battery for £25.

(apologies if parts dont make sense. Migraine is flaring up.)

Before buying a new battery, check out the charging kit with battery by Samsung, you get a slimline charger and battery and it basically charges your battery up, stopping when fully charged, I bought mine off Amazon for around £23 and it's been one of the best purchases I've made for any of my phones.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00NFWTX8A/ref=ya_aw_oh_bia_dp?ie=UTF8&psc=1

A bit more expensive now at @ £29 though.

Thanks Evohicks. I have a power bar thats great for top up charges. But i've ordered the new battery. The sudden drop to 0% and switch off is so sudden a new battery is my best option. from 100% to 30% it drains as normal nothing unusual until the last 30% and the drop to 0 is so sudden theres little time to even grab a charger. Hopefully new battery will be with me after work monday latest (fingers crossed the new battery solves the problem.)

Hi, definately sounds as though the battery is on it's last legs, no need to pay that sort of money for a new one, try the link below. Phil

New battery from this link arrived today. After the old did its sudden drop again i put the new one and i've let it drop the level the old one faulted at and its ticking over normally with no drops or switch offs. Very happy tonight that my Note 4 is back to its best. Thanks for the link Phil. Fast delivery and works like a charm! Marked as best answer,
