Help Root My Galaxy Tab 4???

I'm bored with my tablet. I just disconnected it from ATT and now realized I won't be able to update without an active SIM. Should I root it and if so what's some of the better options to load it with?

I have CyanogenMod 12.1 running on my Kindle Fire HD. I really, really like it. I don't know if your tablet is supported by CyanogenMod or even what it takes to install a custom recovery though. I assume it has been done since it's a Samsung. You might check out the SDA Developers website to see what work has been done for your tablet.
