Help Help saving a Voicemail ?

Hey Everyone,

I was wondering if you could help a gal out here.

I'm trying to walk my aunt through exporting a voicemail message off of her phone, so I can burn it to a CD and mail it to her.

She is incredibly not tech savvy at all, and giving her instructions over the phone is proving to be quite difficult.

From what I've read, with some OSes you can 'tap and hold' a voicemail message, then get a popup menu with the option to 'save' or 'share'. Others, have a menu option accessible from the 'menu' button, however, she can't seem to find either of these options and I'm at a loss for what to tell her since I'm not familiar with Andriod.

Her phone info:
- Android Version: 5.1.1
- Model: VS985 4G
- Build#: LMY47V

Could anyone be so kind as to post step-by-step instructions on how to export a voicemail? (maybe even throw in a screen shot or two)

Voicemail does not reside on the phone. It is stored and played back by the carriers network.

That is partially true.

However, with many smartphones, the voicemail messages are pushed down to the device itself. So, they exist on the phone as well as the carrier system. And many of them have a way to export them or share them.

I'm hoping someone can share how to accomplish it with this phone!

You/she will need a Voice Recording app to save the message as a file on the phone.

then that can be emailed to where ever you want it.

AutoCall Voice Recorder Free.... I have tried a bunch of these apps, and this is the first one that has worked every time... ie, it will record my Bluetooth Trucker's Headset and all of the others ignored my BT headsets....

She just dials up Voice Mail as usual, the app records anything that is heard/said to a file.
It has never missed a call since I installed it.... and has been a blessing to me.....
I have severe Tinnitus, and Variable hearing drops due to Sinus issues ... here today, gone tomorrow... hearing aids are useless.

with this app, I can play a call back again, and again, until I understand what was said...

Hmmmm, maybe - the quality won't be as good, but you could just put the phone on speaker and record it into a mic'd recorder of some sort. Preferably a digital one or, lacking a recording device, directly into your computer. Then you could skip the "cd" part and put the audio file onto an email.

I tried that, and it is just about useless. The voice level drops just a bit, and the recorder "doesn't hear a thing".
Too many dropouts to be useful...

with the app I described, nothing is missed, it is all there as an audio file that can be transferred with the medium of choice.
