Root How to root Verizon Galaxy S4 with Lollipop (5.0.1)

Ok. I think the only bug is found. When we went to Lollipop 5. Noticed with the phone off. When you plugged it in the green bubbles showed it charging. Now those bubbles are gone. And if it's plugged in. It won't start ? Unplug and lighting bolt stays on screen ? Battery pull. Boom it boots fine. I think the bootloader file controls this process preboot. So putting OH7 back should cure it. Maybe OF1 might work too ?

Bummer. Camera not working either. Ok did a factory reset. That didnt fix it. Its still rooted too. Going to hit it with the Verizon Diagnostic Tools thats built into the partition this morning. When you put the phone on a computer you see a directory that has it built it. Lets see if that fixes it. I think BusyBox mucked it up personally.

So its a confirmed problem with the OC1. On my PP OH7 at least. Need the OH7 load file. Maybe try the OF1.

I'm still on OC1 and yes my camera is working. I'm kind of wondering if OH7 would solve your problems as well.considering we flashed the OC1 kernel I would assume we could flash the OF1 kernel as well I'm not sure if that would solve your trouble or not.I'm not sure about this but I'm also wondering if we could flash the stock OF1 file on the prepaid version.it would be nice if something went wrong we could restore with odin.

Hey guys
Found this thread because I experience the mentioned problems with my verizon sch-i545pp. Flashed kernel to OC1, rooted it, flashed to OF1 (or at least tried to). Because I'm stupid I didn't make a kernel backup before. Now camera doesn't work anymore and my phone forgets the passwords for the wifis I connect to. Can you help me somehow? Or does one of you have a backup of OH7, flashing back to this kernel version should fix the problem right?
Btw I unrooted my phone in the meanwhile and made a factory reset which fixed nothing.
Thanks for the help, this thread makes me hoping for a working phone again :D

Ok. Getting your phone working again is pretty easy. You need a good working computer with a USB port. Use the supplied cable from Samsung. Software. Its in your phones hidden partition. You will see it when you fist attach the drive. Run the application and it will load on your PC. Its an upgrader and repair program. Verizon Diagnostic Tools. It will take an hour. You MUST be connected to the internet. It will take you back to bone stock. I have used it twice now. Its a god send for trying to root this variant.

I hope the OP is watching his thread. If somebody can get the entire OH7 file. It is fairly recent so not on sammobil.com yet. We might be able to get the bootloader out of it and see if that gets us working. In theory the process makes sense. Down Rev. Root. Then go back up Rev to OH7. The Chinese Codewriters on Kingroot will hack it soon enough. Give it a couple months. The SU files in that KingRoot gives me the chills. Its all in Mandarin. I think its a bot to track your info. Ripping it out for Super SU is pretty simple.

Thanks man!
Will try this, hopefully it'll work. Do I have to create a backup before?
Another question (you seem to check this stuff out, at least more than I do :p):
If I rooted my phone (with OC1) and then used the verizon diagnostic tool would I still have root after being back on OH7?

Nope. Root will be gone. If we just flashed the OH7 bootloader. Thats the question. The Verizon Repair will return you to bone stock. The Repair tool has a built in Backup option too. Its pretty slick.

Thats it. When you plug your phone into your computer. It will show those 4 or 5 files first. Hit the one thats an application. It will take awhile. Then install itself in your computer. Be patient. Once the program is loaded. It has 2 parts. Upgrade or repair. Repair and your phone will be bone stock in about 30-45 minutes. Depending on computer and internet speed. If it fails. Reboot everybody and try again. It will start where it left off.

THE LAST AND ONLY WAY LEFT FOR ROOTING....VERIZON S4 LOLLIPOP...

Listen guys I think this could be the only chance of rooting s4 i545 0f1 I have tried every single root king/towel root etc etc on pc and phone too but all failed because the main reason is that when ever u try to root it verifies the build/kernel number and when it sees that it's 0f1 It stops working because the new most stable update of lollipop with the build number 0f1 doesn't comes with a unlocked boot loader so that u can install other stuffs just like. I phone specially in version and some other verient it would be a waste of time to try any other methos except this let me explain it did u know a while ago after the release of lollipop some apps were only supported by the 5.0 lollipop or higher when people lowere then lollipop like jelly bean and kitkat tried to download it from play store it said that this vision is not compatible with your devise because the play store decetected the 4.0 version just like king root does with build and kernel and stops but some geeks found the way to solve that by changing the build and krnel to latest version like 5.0 without even effecting system what if we could do the same with the build and kernel member to the previous working one like 0C1 then I think king root and other apps might get to working the reference how to change the kernel and build with out effecting the system is just go to YouTube and type ( fix "your device isn't compatible with this version" ) this will give u the reference for that location and app to change the build and kernel number I haven't tried it yet but if u r on that please reply me but hurry I think this can really work just need some one to test that but hurry... and please do inform back if it really works...c:

OR the other last and only option left would be to downgrade your version s4 i545 kernel = ..... 0F1 to 0C1 kitkat Which is now posible with Oden and then root it then turn it back to lollipop 5.0.1 kernel = .... 0F1 the most stable kernel version out there hope that helped u all .... c: Thanks
