What's the difference between forwarding mail from yahoo to gmail and having gmail pull from yahoo using POP?

I have yahoo plus but I can't get the phone to sync with the server and I'm tired of deleting emails on my phone and then again when I log in from my pc.

The difference is that it you can actually reply "from" your yahoo address within gmail if you use POP, I think...

Gmail can also mark all of your mail as read when it checks it, whereas a forward just sends a copy over.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know how to get Yahoo mail on the extended home screen view, the one that you right swipe to access? I have both Gmail and Yahoo mail on the phone with Yahoo set as my default mail. ONLY Gmail shows up on that extended home screen view and I'd rather it be Yahoo because that's what I always use. Anyone?

If i understand you correctly, go to the page you want it on, tap the "+" in the lower right, select widget, select the plain "mail" widget (should say "htc" underneath

I just tried that and it's telling me there's no room on the screen because the Gmail widget is on there already. Do you know if I can remove the Gmail widget?? Or is it ALWAYS there?
