Why can't I add comments to reviews on the Amazon App...WTFoobar??

Really?

Btw, Ebay has similar limitations.... these are key apps. whats the deal?!!!

Speaking of deal...whats the deal with SlickDeals wanting just about ALLL access to my info including contacts and a long list of others?!!!

I can't believe such a widely used app has this limitation and that not enough people have requested for enabling such features.

( btw, can I fix the title typo :-/ )
Could be because when people buy from Amazon, if it's good, they're happy, if it's crap, return for a refund guaranteed. No need for any social network comments.

They have so many apps now I wouldn't know where to begin to make a comment.

As if that's a reason to give up improving! Amazon, as well as NewEgg have the strongest review networks and is valuable to potential sales. If that is limited, less people are inclined to use such conveniences.

You can start making comments in alphabetical order, but I recommend to start from you most used, valued apps.
Amazon is for commerce, to generate money, so its something Amazon should be on top of.

so a person with a constructive issue comes to the forum to get help and solve an issue, and the reply I get back is to Go away to Amazon?

If this is your attitude, you really should stay off forums. Is there an age chart we can filter to opt out of replies from say 9 and younger replies? Sadly, I have had great conversation with some youngsters and would hate to rule them out vs older but less capable people.

The only way you are going to get help is to take it up with Amazon or whatever app maker/company you have an issue with.

I'm sorry you you don't like my advice but it is good advice.
You should email them and articulate exactly what you have said on this forum to them.
If no one tells them that improvements need made then they won't make them. [emoji217]

I avoid Vendor apps with a passion, I only use the PC and then I use http://www.searchtempest.com/ to find what I want, that totally avoids all of the superfluous "related" junk adverts they push on us... searchTempest only returns solid hits on the item you are looking for.

it looks first at Craigslist, then ebay and Amazon are below... I skip to the bottom right away when looking for parts, etc...

I think being politely told that the only entity that can respond properly to your concerns with the Amazon app is the developer of that app, Amazon, is quite reasonable.:)

This is the best answer that can be given as to how to address the way Amazon handles app reviews and comments in their house. I'm not sure what else you would like to be said.

I doubt Google will get involved. They try to make sure that apps in the Play Store abide by the rules, they issue guidance on style but don't exclude apps that don't follow it, but in terms of features their attitude will be that it's up to the app developer what features they include.

Also TBH Google are not desperately responsive to feedback on their own stuff, so I don't think it likely they'll take up users' suggestions with other developers on their behalf.

Personally I don't have any such apps myself, so can't comment on their features. My attitude is that I'd rather have one decent browser than a large collection of site-specific apps (of course I have 4 browsers, but hey, consistency is overrated ;) ).

Android admins should be demanding more from widely used apps.
Google does monitor apps distributed through their app store (Google Play), but Android is an open source platform. Surely you can't expect Google to monitor every 3rd party app created to run on Android? 3rd party apps are disabled by default and you can only install them via your own free will by 1.) enabling the option to do so and then 2.) Installing the application and agreeing to any permissions, etc. that the app requires.

As mentioned, the only good way to go about getting changes made to any app is to contact the app developer directly. This goes for apps published to Google Play as well. In my experience, most of the developers are responsive and will provide a fix to issues very promptly when contacted via a polite email outlying the issues you're having.

My experience with Amazon customer service has been pretty pleasant so far, but I've never dealt with any issues on the development side of things. Please do post any replies here as I'm curious myself how Amazon will handle the situation.

Ok, so I will send Amazon a email, and report back with their response. I thought there maybe a way to have Goog involved, no?
BTW, I'm not salty about the way you reacted because we all have our bad moments, but please try and be a bit more kind in your future replies (weather you agree or not).

good replies, all of them, even this above. I maybe having a bad moment, as I have been a iOS user mostly, and I tried a year or so ago to switch to Droid, but I selected a very poor phone, so after that bit was over in just a short 4weeks, I had another iOS phone and just last week took on to TEST the Droid again but in the MotoX for a temporary time. So far very happy, BUT there are some quirks to iron out. A few with the HW, and as this post explains, some with the SW.

Thanks for this mature response ;-)

Hadron, you maybe on the right track...Maybe "Best Answer".

As I tried Pandora on the Chrome, but can't login due to Flash. So once I find the right browsers that allow the apps I use most, and just Bookmark them, I think I might be OK....But some apps do help with navigation. We will see.
