Root new recovery for alcatel one touch fierce 2

:):)For 7040N

Here is the recovery for the 7040N.
Flash it with flashify.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8jitdIyh2NtZ2VEWHo1OEtnalE/view?usp=sharing

After you flash it reboot your phone into recovery and let me know it went good.
This has been tested and works.

I will be right back with a test file for you to sideload.
Are you using windows ?

Instructions

Ok thats good. reboot your phone its still fine. Flashify automatically boots you into recovery after it flashes it.

Here is the test zip for you to sideload. It only displays a message it will not change anything.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8jitdIyh2NtYmZ5bGJsbExuUUU/view?usp=sharing
copy the file to C;\ANDROID\SDK\PLATFORM-TOOLS folder on your computer.
Unless you installed adb somewhere else. You should see adb.exe in the same folder.

To sideload open up adb.

attach phone to computer
reboot the phone to recovery.
in recovery select apply update from ADB.

on the computer in ADB shell
type
adb devices
you should see sideload
if you do
type

adb sideload message.zip

if you dont see any device when you type adb devices
You need to install this driver
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8jitdIyh2NtVlN2NEdnRWJTbTg/view?usp=sharing

Just unzip universal driver
double click and install it.
let me know if all is well with the

adb devices

and if you get the messages from the message.zip

What version of windows are you working on?

CONFORMATION THEY WORK.

YES i confirm it worked perfectly...give me a minute for pic

SEE THE PIC IN PREVIOUS POST.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? DONT BE ONE OF THE GUYS STUCK LIKE CHUCK.

FLASH THE RECOVERY NOW WILE YOU HAVE THE CHANCE !! { ROM UPDATE SOON }

:):):):):)

And if you can make the backups of the partitions. I need both 7040N and 7040T.
The sooner i get the files the sooner I can fix the ROM.:thinking::thinking::thinking:

Thanks Rich

Could you please help me? :( I don't speak english very well. I have an Alcatel Fierce 2 T- Mobile (7040T). I got a system update notification today, so I tried to install it but it failed during the progress. Now, my cell phone doesn't boot from the Alcatel logo, it automatically goes to the Recovery mode, so I think is bricked and I don't know why it happened. So, that recovery image that you uploaded will help me to fix the problem and boot my phone normally? I have been searching for solutions to fix this, but nothing works. o_O There no even an official firmware for this phone. It is a shame. I will appreciate your answer. And sorry for my english

If you use the files for the 7040N everything should be fine.
Try to re flash the recovery with Flashify.
Make sure you are flashing the recovery and not the kernel.

It sounds like the recovery did not flash right. Flashify will boot into the recovery automatically after the flash.
Yeah I've tried it 3 times using flashify and 2 using rashr wit no luck. My power button is messed up so I can't even try to boot into recovery from power off.
Any other ideas?
Thanks for the reply.

Here is the new recovery image for the 7040T.

And a test zip that only displays a message to verify your recovery is working.

Follow the instructions in the next post
Hi again. How can I install Flashify? This is APK APP, so I can't install it on the phone because it is bricked. And another question, what do I do with the recovery image that you just uploaded? Should I put it on the SD CARD to install in on the phone or what? Sorry for bother you, but I don't know what to do. I have had my cell phone bricked for 6 months. I want to use it again. And do I have to use ADB interface to flash? I would like you to give more explanations, please. I will appreciate your help.

It is the stcock recovery.
But I have modified it to change the signature verification key.
That is how the rom files I made in the other thread can pass signature verification.

The rom that is flash able is 100% stock except that it is rooted.

Do not install any OTA with this recovery installed.
Do not install any OTA with the phone rooted.

It will brick you.

The recovery I made gives me a way to flash the phone with the android recovery.
That's all. It looks the same and functions the same.
But it will allow you to sideload files as long as the files you sideload are signed with my keys.

So the purpose of this is to side load files signed with your keys well what files aside from your rom would that be? I'm just looking for a way to get custom recovery on this. I found that this can be accomplished on some phones via terminal emulator I wonder if that method would work on this phone its my only phone so I can't risk it

The concept is.......
After you have flashed the recovery that I made.

A) I can give you the releasekey.x509.pem and releasekey.pk8, then with thoose keys you can sign any files you want. After you sign your zip with the keys it will allow you to flash that zip.

B) You send me your files, I sign them and send them back. Then you flash them.

NOTE:
IF YOU FLASH BY ANY METHOD, A CUSTOM RECOVERY, TO A BOOT LOADER LOCKED DEVICE
YOU WILL HAVE A SOFT BRICK.

When the boot loader is locked:
During the boot up of the phone, the boot loader checks the KERNEL Signature.
Change the KERNEL in the recovery ---->>> ( CUSTOM RECOVERY)

The signature check fails ----->>>> The boot-loader will not allow the device to boot.
Then you have no ADB Acess to fix the thing.

Maybe not exactly like that but pretty close anyway

My apologies I finally thoroughly went through the entire thread and fully understand what your efforts have accomplished and I thank you. Too much phone jargon got me confused a bit lol as I'm only accostumed on flashing and roming I have no developer skills. I only follow instructions and flash. Would this then allow me to flash a custom recovery Or is there still no hope for that? Its honestly the only thing worth flashing or that's needed

yes the command is

dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/by-name/recovery.img

similar to that anyway.
You have to adjust the if= path to be the recovery image path you want to flash.
And adjust the 0f=path to be the path of the recovery partition on the phone.

Make sure you read all of my post in
http://androidforums.com/threads/roms-for-the-fierce-2.918921/page-10
work back from there.

All the info you need is there.

The problem with any other recovery would be that the Boot-Loader most likly checks to see if the kernel has the right signature. If it can't verify the kernel signature it wont boot it.

On top of that the twrp has to be built for the specific device. Or you need to find a very similar device.

Flashing a bad recovery won't boot loop the phone.
The recovery just won't load.

Simply flash back the original recovery and everything is ok.
