Best Smartphone display ever?

According to Display Mate, the S7 has the best screen on any smart phone to date -
http://displaymate.com/Galaxy_S7_ShootOut_1.htm

I'm not a huge fan of Samsung, but I've always liked their displays (although I appreciate it's subjective).

Taken from Androidpolice.

I had the BlackBerry Priv with it's similar-sized AMOLED Dual curved edge design (5.4" vs. the 5.5" S7 Edge) & it was awesome.
If not for call quality issues on 3 handsets,I'd kept it for a while.
Now that the S7 Edge is packing a lot more features (finally,a decent sized battery,'bout time Samsung) in a similar-sized package,I'm almost certain I'll be getting into yet another Samsung device.

Ok I am new to the Samsung forums here always went to HTC. Have had every phone since the EVO and am now jumping ship and I want the Edge. My husband is still undecided if he wants the S7 or the S7 edge. I think I'll like the bigger screen. Our M9's have 5.0 I think and even the S7 is 5.1 but 5.5 I used to say the Note was too big for me I would never want that big of a phone and now I want the Edge. I want to try that wireless fast charging thing BB has for 70 bucks.

Best Buy has demo models available already,at least the ones with the Samsung Experience shops inside the store.
(T-Mobile also, call around, not every store has 'em just yet).
It's definitely worth a look, did so myself earlier today:
Although it had a security tether, similar to this depiction:

I was able to judge that it's an improvement over the sharp-edged S6 Edge.
The overall dimensions/feel-in-hand is suprisingly smaller than you would imagine for a 5.5" display.
The proportions remind me of HTC Devices,I think you'll be more than pleased with it. :thumbsupdroid:

Wow thanks I'll go look at one my next day off cause I'll probably preorder. I was in this little BB mobile in the mall the other night. They sold us our M9's. I really hope I get used to Samsung and not miss Sense. Looks like a nice phone.

I've used HTC exclusively for years and currently have the M9. I might have waited for the M10 but a family member's phone needs replacement and figured I'd use the upgrade for the S7 Edge. An earlier poster is correct: the S7 Edge is only slightly larger than the M9. I was expecting a much larger device and was surprised when I compared them side-by-side. If you're comfortable with the M9 I'd wager you'd be comfortable with the S7 or Edge. As to whether it's a good phone, time will tell.

But the M9 has a 5" screen the 7Edge is 5.5 I want the bigger screen that is why I am getting the edge over the S7 which is 5.1. You would think the S7 would be around the same as the M9 not the edge. But anyway I am hoping we like the Edge cause we've had every HTC since the original EVO and my very 1st smart phone was the HTC Touch Pro windows phone before I knew about Android. But I am sure as long as it's Android I will like it. And I have friends who love their Samsung one has the 6 Edge and another went from HTC's to Notes.

I share your love for HTC and hope they have a winner with the M10. It's funny to see reviewers praising Samsung for just tweaking the S6 when HTC was mocked for playing it safe with the M9 (which, in my opinion, was unfairly bashed in the reviews. It's a great phone).

As for the size of the devices, I was expecting the 5.5 screen to look and feel larger in the hand - wasn't sure if I wanted a big jump in size. But it's remarkably close to the M9 and I went with the Edge. My first non-HTC phone since the original Incredible. But I'm eligible for another upgrade in August so I may end up giving the Edge to my wife and buying the M10. We will see.

Well they didn't change much in the M9 but to us it wasn't worth upgrading for and I didn't like the camera as well as the 8. Than my friend got an S6 which she took back but it took great pictures. I am excited about getting the Edge even though I am used to sense and now will have touch whiz is it? LOL! I want the edge over the regular cause of the 5.5. I am sure I'll like it. People argue all the time over HTC & Samsung and who's better and everyone has their preference. When someone would see my phone and ask what it was I would tell them and say but the new Samsung is supposed to be good to I just don't like i phones. LOL!
