Well, if you want "Fast Charging" with the S7 the minimum output on the charging pad you use is 10watt. Also, you need to be using a Qualcomm Certified 18W Wall Charger if you want Fast Charging. Again, you need both of these!

For the record, the charging pads and charge adapters that are 5w will charge your S7 but will not fast charge your S7.
Another point is the newest spec adapters are Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 specification (go to Qualcomm Website)
and these adapters are 15w. These Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 adapters will give you fast charging that is a tad faster but not much faster. Also, I not believe the S7 supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.

SO, my recommendations:
For S7 Fast Charging is to buy a Qualcomm Certified 18W Wall Charger plus a 20AWG 3.3ft micro USB cable, if you just want a spare, fast charge, wall charger.

A person with an S7 that wants a charging pad that offers fast charging for the S7, they should go with a 10 watt charging pad that plugs into a Qualcomm Certified 18W Wall Charger.

Here is a link to the pad and adapter that I use. It has the specs I mention above. Price is decent. Be sure you select and order the one that has "Fast Pad + Adapter" as remember, you need both.

For a reasonably priced, decent wall adapter and cable you might consider this one. My buddy has it and it works great
with his S7.

Yes, as it is by spec, a Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 adapter. Also, it regard to the Aukey wall adapter and the cable that comes with it. A few reviews say the cable itself is not heavy duty and prone to breaking. For the price they want for the unit though it is still a terrific price ($8.99) for a Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 adapter. Yup, aok with with either S7 or S7 Edge.

Well, in that amazon ad, for that charging pad there is no mention whether it is a standard mode 5watt pad or 10watt fast charge capable pad. You need a 10w pad and a fast charge adapter if you want fast charging. My GUESS is that pad is a 5 watt pad so no fast charging with that. See the ad below for a Choetech pad. Do note the IMPORTANT in the ad.

Galaxy S7 and Edge are not compatible with Quick Charge 3.0. They are Quick Charge 2.0 spec. So don't pay the extra price of a 3.0 charger when a 2.0 will work just as well.

Samsung could have made the Snapdragon 820 models 3.0 compatible but then the people with the Exynos chips would be left out.

Well, recommend politely that you don't "think" but know for a fa ct before purchase. I would bet it is a 5watt charger. Regardless, I would not buy unless I was 100% sure it is a 1owatt pad. As for the one you just asked about, YES, that will give you fast charge but only if you do not use your OEM S7 adapter that came with the S7 but rather a Quick charge 2.0/3.0 Adaptive Fast Charger. The Aukey Quick charge 2.0 Adaptive Fast Charger will work with that pad to give you fast charging.

YES, it is but most if not all of the pad vendors are saying that Samsung Fast Charge adapter is a no go (won't work with their pad) with their pad. By the way, the S7 and S7 Edge both comes with the exact same micro cable and fast charge adapter.

Read Amazon reviews and you will see people verifying that the Samsung adapter is a no go with the aftermarket pad they bought. As for me, I cannot attest to whether the Samsung fast charge adapter does or does not work with any given pad.

You want 20 gauge USB wire to achieve full benefits of quick charge 2.0. I believe 24 gauge is minimum spec so going 20 is being safe.

I have a couple LG and sony plugs/cords from previous devices. (A nexus 5, LG g4 and sony z3.) Would these work for regular charging?

20AWG micro usb cable for use with a fast charging adapter is what you want. Not sure what brand. Hopefully, someone here can recommend a quality 20AWG micro usb cable 3' long that they believe is resistant to breaking and that has contact barbs that are aok, etc..
