Gear VR bundle and netflix...

Nothing yet, just an email stating that they've received my application/submission.
Says 4-6 weeks before confirmation, who knows how drawn out this will actually be.
Same for the Netflix code, basically, we'll get a 2nd email without any further questions/submission process, until we get the email with a redemption code....

Yea I don't think anyone's received any verification yet. I asked t-mobile about it and the person told me they actually contacted Samsung about it and basically Prize Logic who is dealing with the offer (a 3rd party Samsung hired to do it) will verify the information then once verified they are supposed to send an email with a Netflix code within 72 hours. The problem is it could take the 4-6 weeks that they say to just verify the submission. I always hate doing these "offer" things just because of how long the waits are and the risk of them finding whatever reason to say your submission is invalid.

I read most of the 'fine print' for the 'game bundle' that is supposed to come with the VR offer, and if I recall correctly it said you must redeem them by April 20th? If they started the offer the week of March 7th.. then 4-6 weeks to be verified.. then 4-6 week to actually get the gear.. how are you supposed to do that in time? Is it just a big scam to sell more S7's?

I really hope it works out.. And that doing the redemption online within the first week gives us enough time. (And that we all actually get the stuff..)

Edit: Also, did any of you get an email saying they received your info? The only place i've found that says anything is that Samsung Promotions Submission Status page. I bookmarked it for good measure and I'm checking it everyday.

(I'm going through Verizon, but that shouldn't matter since its all done by a 3rd party.)

Ah, I didn't think to look in my gmail spam folder.. I have some emails from them too. Thank you for saying that! I'm using the contact us button to ask about that timing. I'll be sure to let you guys know what the "support gurus" tell me.

Edit: I saw in the terms and conditions that some providers would actually give you the Gear VR right when you buy the S7! I'm wondering what stores actually did that. (Not that it will really make a difference. I just hope that those don't count towards the 300,000 that they have)

We upgraded to 3 S7 edges on my family plan this past weekend at Sprint and they gave us 3 Gears in-store. I was expecting them to be mailed. I didn't see a netflix offer though....is there one??

I know that T-Mobil started sending out their pre-orders the first week in March, which means that all their customers got there phones before the rest of us and was able to submit the required IMEI and WiFi-Mac info. before the rest of use. I ordered my phone on Feb 25 through AT&T and didn't get my phone until May 7. I'm hoping the final selection is bases on time of purchase and not time of submission.

T-Mobile was actually sending out pre orders the last week of Feb. I know a few who got them then. I ordered mine on Feb. 29th but didnt get it until the 10th because the titanium edge's were already on back order from the previous pre orders that went out.
I asked Prize Logic about the submissions and they are going by submission order, not date of purchase.

I really wouldn't be too concerned about them running out so quickly - I think when that happens, the web page would be updated and you could not submit your request anymore. As long as it takes your info to be verified, I think it should be safe. This is the 4th Samsung promotion that I've taken a part of. The confirmation e-mail that your info has been verified (not the one that you get immediately that your info was received) often doesn't come for weeks - like a month. 3 of these promos involved AT&T phones over the last 2 years. 1 of them was a T-Mobile and I got the Netflix code within a day or so.

As far as I know, Prize Logic handled each one of these promotions.

They didn't start taking submissions until march.. 7th I believe. So all of us here should be able to get them.
(Edit: just checked, they started on the 4th)

Also, I just checked the status page again, and it says "Fulfillment Pending"! Not sure what that means exactly, but at least it isn't still on awaiting validation or whatever.
(Oh, and I didn't get an email about the status change)

I still haven't heard back from their support about the game bundle timing though.

The Occulus app will install when you place the phone in the VR headset for the first time. It will tell you to take the phone out of the headset and it'll install the necessary apps. In other words, we better get those headsets before April 20. LOL

Wow. Hahah I asked them how to get it, as well as if we need the product to get out ID's and I have to wait 4-6 weeks for delivery.. then that can only work so long as it takes less than 4 1/2 to 5 weeks. Hopefully I will get a real response instead of a copy/paste of the 'terms and conditions' I had already read.

I did put it better than that, but it was a few paragraphs that don't really need to take up the space here. I really hope it doesn't make them decide not to send it to me! LoL I am a bit nervous about that though.

So i saw this post and did some digging. S7/E preorders were higher than S6/E, which was 15million. So over 15mil sold and only 300k VRs to be given out -_- wow less than 2%. I dont mean to be a deby downer but this really pisses me off. Anyways I filled out my app on the march 10th as i got mine a day early from ATT. But i still dont think itll be good enough. :-( really hurts my impression of samsung.

:-( really hurts my impression of samsung.

Why are people getting so sour already? I'm pretty sure the 15 million pre-orders was global and not just the US which I believe is where this promo is valid. But c'mon people - you all are giving yourself undue stress over not getting something when you've not heard anything to that effect other than calculating numbers. Have a little faith.

And after you all get it, you're all going to complain about the screen door effect and poor eye convergence. :)

My first submission which I did at 1:00 AM on March 10 which was the first day you could do it is in "Fulfillment Pending" mode.

My second submission from the BOGO event which I did two days ago is now in "Fulfillment Pending" mode.

Maybe I'll get both, maybe not. I'll be happy if I get one VR headset and both Netflix codes haha.

Lol I was actually thinking about how it might make our eyesight get worse, staring at a screen 3 inches from our faces. (But I figure the lenses should help with that) ;P

Anyways, I will be sad if I can't get the game bundle but the Cardboard app seems to have some pretty cool apps that should work with Gear VR anyways.
Oh, maybe the Verizon store will let me plug my phone into their VR floor model so I can register and get my bundle beforehand. Thanks Alexp08 for the idea!

Also I saw a post on AndroidCentral that showed the Gear Watch promo being sold out, so I'm pretty sure they would have stopped us from submitting our info if they already had the 300,000 submissions.

Whelp.. I went to verizon to put my phone in the Gear VR floor model, but they have it so the phone can't come out. It is physically locked into the headset. So no luck with that for me. I told the guy who sold me my phone about the timing issue and he said hopefully they will get the headsets out quickly enough.

So yea it looks like we just have to hope that it will arrive before April 20th! Everyone keep your fingers crossed! I believe they say 4-6 weeks because they don't wan't to get sued if it takes longer than the standard shipping time or if something happens at their warehouse.

Oh, I tried the headset on anyways, and wow. I see that 'screen door' effect but its really not as bad as I thought it would be. I even forgot I was standing in the middle of the store and started laughing at how crazy cool it was! Looking at pictures from around the world made me forget where I was!

Edit: I'm pretty sure "Fulfillment Pending" means that they are working on getting it shipped out!
