Marshmallow & Exchange Servers

I've set up many phones with my work's Exchange email and never had a problem until now. I've successfully set up iPhones, a Galaxy S5 & S6. For some reason my new S7 will not work. Has anyone else had issues with setting up and Exchange email account on their S7?

"I am not sure if I am making an active connection and being denied by Exchange or if it is on the Marshmallow side and there is a problem with the initial handshake."

That's kind of what I was thinking that it could be a marshmallow issue, I've never had a problem before. I'm going to talk to the guys on the Exchange team tomorrow and see if they have heard of this problem. I'll post the results. In the mean time, if anyone else is having issues with this, please post.

I will do the same. Luckily I may have access to check the Exchange logs. One option is to log into the Exchange Web Interface (OWA) for Outlook...this is the Web-base Email stuff not the Exchange Admin stuff.

See if your phone is registering under your connected devices under the settings. You are only allowed to have 10 devices connected at a time and it doesn not remove them automatically. I am checking mine now. I know if you are at the max allowed devices it will not let you sync until you free up and remove one of the current connections.

Thanks for the post back. I don't have 10 devices connected but I'll see if I can clear everything and start over, you never know. That's good information to know, appreciate the heads up on this.

I do have access to OWA as well as a Citrix connection, it would just be more convenient to have it as an email account as my trouble calls come in through email and I get automatic notifications with email.

I don't use the default email app or calendar. I use Aquamail. Connects to my work exchange server without problems. Even has a calendar function that reads off my work calendar. I can't add anything to the calendar though which I'm still trying to figure out how to but at least it can read it.

One thing I noticed is that when I set up my S7, the normal popup notice I get when connecting to my work exchange email about giving additional rights so they can "wipe" my phone if needed did NOT pop up. That was a shocker. So now my work can't touch my phone and I have work email on it. Not going to bring it up to them either lol.

That:s your best solution. Get away from the buggy Samsung email app. AquaMail is far, far more configurable and is very secure

Aquamail is well worth the app purchase price. It was cheap and it does so much more than the default email app. I believe the free version can only add two email accounts. Pay version has unlimited email accounts. It's updated often also.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue I'm having with my work emails, I've posted this in a different forum with no luck:: When using Microsoft Outlook Email with my previous galaxy phone there was an option on how to handle the next or previous email in the inbox. You could choose to have it automatically open to view the next or previous email in the inbox after you have deleted the email you were viewing without having to select it. This option does not seem to be available when using the Galaxy S7 Edge? Anyone know of a fix or an update to get this option?
